What New Horizons is

New Horizons is an IT and technology training company that runs instructor-led and on-demand courses, most of them preparing people for vendor certifications. It serves two readers: individual IT professionals working toward a certification, and organizations training their teams. The homepage describes "900+ IT and technology courses taught by instructors who work in the field", covering everything "From cloud and cybersecurity to AI and networking", and promises to teach "what employers are actually hiring for, not just what looks good on paper." The site footer gives its address at 1 S. Market St., 4th Floor, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston, MA, and the copyright line reads New Horizons Worldwide, LLC. The same footer groups it with Project Management Academy, Six Sigma Online, TCM Security, TRACOM, Velopi and Watermark Learning under an Educate 360 copyright.

The homepage headline figures are "4.8/5 instructor rating · 100K+ trained · Live & on-demand", and the company says it has been "helping organizations navigate this for over 40 years."

Vendor partnerships and the catalog

Most of the catalog is authorized vendor training. The homepage says New Horizons offers "authorized training solutions from over 30 industry leading partners" including Microsoft, Amazon and Red Hat, and that it maintains "more than 35 Authorized Training Partnerships". It calls itself "a Select Training Partner with AWS". The brand list runs to Adobe, Apple, Atlassian, AWS, CertNexus, Cisco, Citrix, CompTIA, EC-Council, Google, IBM, ISACA, ISC2, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, Palo Alto Networks, Python, PMI, Red Hat, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, SHRM, Tableau, TCM Security, VMware and Microsoft.

Microsoft is the largest block in the menu, with training for Azure, Dynamics, Power Platform, PowerShell, Exchange, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Office, SharePoint, Security, SQL, System Center, Teams, Visual Studio and Windows Client and Server, plus Copilot and Microsoft AI. Topic menus cover Agile and Scrum, AI and machine learning, business analysis, cloud, cybersecurity, data and analytics, DevOps, human resources, IT service management, leadership, networking, programming, project management, service desk and virtualization. A dedicated AI training section names the tools it trains on: Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Perplexity and NVIDIA. The homepage also lists training by job role, from cybersecurity analyst and cloud technologist to data analyst, web designer and network systems administrator.

CompTIA training

The CompTIA page explains that CompTIA has five certification categories, running from entry level to expert, and New Horizons sorts its CompTIA courses the same way. Core Skills covers Tech+, A+, Network+ and Security+, plus one-day AI Essentials and AI Prompting Essentials courses. The page lists A+, Network+ and Security+ at "5 Days | $2495 USD" each. Infrastructure covers Server+, Linux+, Cloud+ and AutoOps+. Cybersecurity covers PenTest+, CySA+, SecurityX and a three-day SecAI+. Data and Analytics covers Data+, DataSys+ and DataAI, and Project+ sits under Additional Professional. Most of these run five days, and the page links to CompTIA's own certification roadmap for learners deciding where to start.

The page also sets out CompTIA's career pathways. The infrastructure path "is designed for individuals with at least 18 months general IT experience", and the cybersecurity path "is recommended for individuals who have at least 3 years of hands-on information security or related experience." As an authorized CompTIA partner, the page says, "our certified subject matter experts only deliver content authorized by CompTIA to best prepare you for your certification exam."

Cisco training

The CCNA page walks through the certification: attend Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions v2 (CCNA), then pass the 200-301 exam, which it describes as a 120-minute test of network fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, IP services, security fundamentals, and automation and programmability. The CCNA course, which covers configuring switches, routers and wireless LAN controllers, managing network devices and identifying basic security threats, runs 5 days for $4195, and the page links to buying an exam voucher. Next steps toward CCNP are listed with prices: ENCOR (enterprise networks) for $4195, CLCOR (collaboration) for $4195, DCCOR (data center) for $4595 and SCOR (security) for $4295, each a five-day course.

How classes are delivered

New Horizons offers several formats. The homepage says "From Virtual Instructor-Led Training available online to On-Demand training available 24/7, we have a solution to suit your schedule and preferred learning style." Private Group Training brings an instructor to your site or runs the class virtually for your team alone, and Custom Training Solutions let its subject matter experts "customize the class to specifically address the unique goals of your team."

Two policies matter when booking. Guaranteed to Run (GTR) classes let you "Choose from hundreds of GTR dates across a diverse catalog of course titles and never worry about your class cancelling at the last minute." And under what the CompTIA page calls its "unbeatable Learning Guarantee", students may "repeat most courses, if they are the same version, FREE OF CHARGE, within six months of course completion", with exceptions for Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Red Hat and courses from affiliated third-party providers.

After class, learners get "your class recording and hands-on labs in our virtual lab environment". Instructors hold, the homepage says, an instructor rating of 4.8 on a 5 point scale "across thousands of reviews", with the footnote "Metrics That Matter instructor rating based on 2022 student reviews". One student testimonial on the homepage mentions continued lab access "for a period of time" and "lifetime access to the course materials" after a Microsoft Teams course.

Government, funding and support

For the public sector, the menu includes government training and discounts, government Copilot training, military credentialing, CMMC, DoD 8570 / 8140 and NIST NICE training. A resources section lists apprenticeships, funding and grants, state programs (Illinois and Louisiana IWT, Ohio TechCred, Michigan Works), learning credits and webinars. Buyers can reach sales and support by phone at 800.500.3135 or at info@newhorizons.com.

Who it suits

New Horizons suits IT professionals who want a live, instructor-led class with an authorized curriculum ahead of a vendor exam, especially in the Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA and AWS tracks, and employers who want the same for a team, with private classes, custom content and guaranteed dates. Public-sector teams get dedicated compliance and funding options. The free re-take within six months gives a second chance on most courses. It suits less well a self-taught beginner on a small budget: per-course prices such as the $4195 CCNA class are an employer-scale purchase, and the model is built around scheduled classes rather than a low-cost subscription library.
