What Modern Age Coders is

Modern Age Coders is a live online tutoring school that teaches coding and maths together, to students aged 6 to 67. It is a learner product: families and individual students book recurring live classes with a mentor rather than buying recorded courses. The homepage lists its main office in Kolkata, India, says it has "taught over 10,000 students since 2020", and says families in "25+ countries" have joined. Its founder, Shivam Khemka, is quoted on the homepage: "Children do not need another app that teaches them to copy code. They need a mentor who teaches them to think."

The idea that sets it apart is the pairing of the two subjects. The homepage argues that "every algorithm needs mathematical thinking and every equation clicks better when you can code it", and the classes are sold as "Coding + Maths". The site says it is "Rated 4.9 across 547 Google reviews", and its blog adds that the reviews it quotes "are copied word for word from Google".

How the classes run

Every class is live. The homepage describes the method in six steps: students explain their thinking, instructors demonstrate and then guide practice, learners code, solve or build during the lesson, questions and misconceptions get attention, assignments receive feedback, and progress is checked before moving on. The school's own blog summarizes the model as "a mentor, a batch of 5 to 10 (or 3 to 4, or one-to-one), two classes a week, and a project built in class in every module". Classes run around the student's timezone; the homepage pitch to families abroad is "Your timezone, not ours".

Live does not mean nothing is recorded. The plans include recorded session access so a student who misses a class can catch up, and the site keeps two open libraries of full, unedited class recordings, one for kids aged 6 to 12 and one for teens and adults, "in a mix of English and Hindi", free with a Google sign-in. Families can watch one of these before booking anything.

What it teaches

The coding catalog is split by age. For kids there is block coding, game design, animations, web app building and a Web Design for Kids course in HTML and CSS. Teens get Java Programming from variables to object-oriented programming, and AI & Machine Learning with Python and real datasets "from image recognition to chatbots". A Class 11 and 12 Computer Science and Informatics Practices course runs separate CBSE (Python) and ICSE (Java) batches. College students and adults get Advanced Algorithms & Data Structures, an Artificial Intelligence Complete Masterclass, MERN Stack, Full Stack Web, App Development, Competitive Programming, Data Analysis, MySQL and Algo Trading, among others. There are girls-only batches called Queen Coders and Princess Coders, a summer coding camp and a schools program.

The homepage sets out a four-phase learning roadmap: coding fundamentals in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, interactive applications with React and APIs, backend development with Node.js and databases, then advanced topics such as AI, machine learning and mobile development. Student projects on the homepage include a food expiry tracker built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MongoDB, a typing speed website with a leaderboard, and a word counter.

Maths runs from elementary (grades 1 to 5) through middle school and high school (algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus) to college topics such as linear algebra, differential equations and real analysis. Olympiad tracks name AMC, MATHCOUNTS, AIME, USAMO and IMO, and the one-to-one maths plan covers exam preparation for CBSE, ICSE and state boards.

Plans and prices

The homepage prices three formats in rupees, per month, for both coding and maths:

  • Group Classes: ₹1499 a month, up to 10 students, two one-hour classes a week, recorded session access, doubt resolution and a course completion certificate.
  • Mini Batch (marked most popular): ₹2999 a month, 3 to 4 students, two one-hour classes a week and "near 1-on-1 teacher attention".
  • Personalized 1-on-1: ₹4999 a month, with a dedicated mentor, a customized curriculum, a monthly parent-mentor sync call and lifetime recording access.

A note says "Starting prices listed. Other plans and prices may vary." For families abroad, the homepage quotes "Live 1-on-1 from $100 to $150 a month" and promises "transparent USD pricing set for your country". Custom group training (3 to 8 students) and custom one-to-one training are priced on request. The site also has a corporate training form for teams, with a consultation call and a custom curriculum.

Trying a class costs nothing. The free live demo is offered with "no card needed", though the site admits it works as a waiting list because the mentors teach all day. The Priority Live Demo costs ₹499 as a one-time fee for a full class of about 45 to 60 minutes at a time you pick, followed by a written skill report and learning roadmap sent on WhatsApp. If you enroll, "we take the demo fee off your first month."

Certificates and support

Each plan includes a course completion certificate. The homepage says that "Upon completing any learning path, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion", described as verifiable and shareable on LinkedIn. It is the school's own completion certificate. Families can reach the school by phone callback, WhatsApp, email at connect@modernagecoders.com, or an on-site assistant called Misti AI. The callback form promises a call "within 3 hours", and the footer links to cancellation and refund policies.

What parents say

The homepage quotes parents by name. Shewta Singh, mother of Ishan, writes "My son struggled with math for years. Integrating it into coding projects has transformed his understanding and confidence." Shradha Saraf, mother of Mivaan, writes that he "understands the concepts, and completes his tasks with excitement." Sonu Goyal, father of Nikit, says the teacher "boosts students' confidence, keeps them updated with technology, and inspires them to learn without hesitation."

Who it suits

Modern Age Coders suits parents who want a child taught live by a mentor who knows them, students who finish more when a teacher is expecting them, and families who like the idea of maths and coding taught as one subject. Indian families get low rupee pricing and board-exam support, and families abroad get classes scheduled in their own timezone. Adults and college students can use the same format for full-stack, data or AI courses. It suits less well the self-directed learner who wants a large on-demand video catalog to work through alone, since the whole product is built around scheduled live classes.
