What Lumify Learn Is

Lumify Learn is an online IT training provider for people starting or changing a career in technology. It sells three kinds of course, all delivered 100% online: nationally recognized Australian qualifications (Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma of Information Technology), shorter vendor-certified bootcamps, and packaged pathways. The home page calls it "Australia's leading provider of IT courses." Its footer identifies the business as Lumify Learn Pty Ltd, a registered training organization (RTO no. 45994), and the site is "Powered by Lumify." A news item on the home page notes that the parent, formerly DDLS Group, is now known as Lumify Group.

This is a learner product. Students enroll in a course, study online with trainer support, and leave with a qualification, a vendor certification or both.

Nationally Recognized Qualifications

The accredited side of the catalog is built on Australian VET qualifications, which the FAQ says carry the Nationally Recognised Training logo. Learners enrolling in one need a Unique Student Identifier (USI), the free government number that records results from nationally recognized courses.

  • ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology (IT Support): 12 months, 12 units across 3 streams, covering IT support and networking, with a variant focused on basic cyber security awareness.
  • ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology, offered in several focuses: Programming (15 months, 20 units across 4 streams), Networking, Systems Administration Support, Web Development, Front-End Website Development, Cloud Computing (with the CompTIA Cloud Essentials+ industry certification), Cyber Security, and an AI and Data focus listed at 12 to 15 months.
  • ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology, in Back End Web Development (18 months), Cyber Security and Advanced Networking.

The FAQ recommends the Certificate IV in Web Development for beginners who want to learn web design and programming, and the Certificate IV in Networking for those who would rather work with network infrastructure than write software.

Bootcamps and Certified Professional Courses

The second strand is shorter courses that bundle vendor certifications. The FAQ says vendor certifications "will show the vendor name eg. Microsoft, AWS, CompTIA." Examples from the course list, with the durations and certifications the site gives:

  • Certified Data Analytics Professional: 4 months, with Azure Data and Power BI certificates.
  • Certified Data Science Professional: Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, AI Fundamentals and Data Science Associate.
  • Microsoft AI Engineer: 6 months, through Azure Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals, AI programming and Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate.
  • Certified Cyber Security Professional: CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+, described as suitable for beginners without coding.
  • Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional: 3 months, with ISACA IT Audit Fundamentals and IT Risk Fundamentals.
  • CompTIA PenTest+ Certified Professional.
  • Azure Cloud Computing Professional (5 months, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator and CompTIA Cloud+) and AWS Cloud Computing Professional (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate and CompTIA Cloud+).
  • Certified Full Stack Developer and Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer.
  • Certified Software Tester Professional: 2 months, with ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation.
  • Certified Salesforce Professional (Administrator), Certified Unity Game Developer (7 to 8 months, Unity Certified Associate) and IT Service Management Professional (1 month, ITIL 4 Foundation).
  • Project management courses (3 to 4 months) with PRINCE2 Foundation or AgilePM Foundation, and a Business Analysis Certified Professional course with BCS certifications.

Outside pure IT, the catalog also lists digital marketing courses with Digital Marketing Institute certifications, Xero bookkeeping bootcamps, and a 1-week Practical AI Skills in the Workplace course. For learners who want everything in one sequence, "Pro Packages combine training, certification and experience into a structured pathway designed for entry into IT roles."

How Study Works

All study is online, and the site says its "web-based learning environment" is "available to you 24/7." The bootcamp FAQ says most bootcamps "can be completed within 3 to 6 months, depending on the subject area and your chosen pace of study," with part-time or full-time study, and that "most activities can be completed at your own pace," so learners can fit study around a job.

Practice is built in. The FAQ says hands-on learning is at the core of every bootcamp, with simulated industry projects, labs and exercises modeled on real job tasks. Many bootcamps are designed for beginners and start with foundations; the site says no prior tech experience is required.

Support comes from people. The site lists dedicated trainers, learning support services, a student success team and an online peer community, and promises that "Our Trainers, Mentors and Student Support Team will be there for you at every step." Student reviews on the home page mention weekly webinars and a named trainer who supported a learner through the first half of a course.

Certificates and Recognition

What a learner receives depends on the course. The Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma are nationally recognized qualifications. Bootcamps end in a certificate of completion, and the site is direct that it is not a nationally recognized qualification like a diploma or Certificate IV, while calling it "a strong portfolio piece and proof of practical training." Bootcamps that include vendor exams lead to those vendors' certifications (Microsoft, AWS, CompTIA, ISACA, ISTQB, Unity, Xero and others named in each course).

Recognition of Prior Learning is available: the FAQ says Lumify Learn offers several ways to recognize previous study or work experience to help learners fast-track their studies.

Lumify Edge Job Placement Program

Lumify Edge is a 3-step program the site says "bridges the gap between learning and earning": Rebranding (resume and portfolio services), an Industry Partner Portal listing jobs and internships from the partner network, and an internship program. The home page says the program will help a learner secure an internship that "could lead to a full-time IT job in just three months of completing any Lumify Learn course." It is not part of the course fee: "An additional fee applies."

Fees and Entry

The course pages do not print tuition prices; they direct learners to contact the team about "flexible monthly payment plans. With options ranging from 8 to 18 months." Every course requires students to be 17 years or older, with adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills, and the site asks prospective students to speak with a Course Advisor under its "right course, right fit" policy.

Who It Suits

Lumify Learn suits career changers and school leavers in Australia who want a nationally recognized IT qualification studied online, and working adults who want a shorter course that ends in Microsoft, AWS, CompTIA or other vendor certifications. Beginners have clear entry points in the Certificate III, the Certificate IV in Web Development or Networking, and the Certified Cyber Security Professional course. Learners who want help moving into a first job can add Lumify Edge for an extra fee.

It suits less well a learner who wants to compare prices before talking to an advisor, since fees are quoted on request, or someone who needs a fixed classroom timetable, since most study is self-paced online.
