What Kodeco is
Kodeco is an online learning platform for mobile developers, covering iOS and Swift, Android and Kotlin, Flutter and Dart, AI, game tech and professional growth. Its menu bar carries the line "The new raywenderlich.com," and its About page says the vision is to be the top online learning platform for mobile developers "at every step of their career, all the way from building your first app, to becoming a respected expert in your field." The footer names the company as Kodeco Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Learners can study alone from a large library, follow guided programs, or join bootcamps with mentors and a certificate, and companies can buy access for their teams.
The About page describes "a small team of just five core team members," supported by "over 300 expert content contributors from around the world" who create its courses, books and bootcamps.
Three ways to learn
The Start Here page sets out three formats.
The Content Library is for learning "at your own pace": "Hundreds of video courses, tutorials, and books across every platform." The subscription pitch counts "50+ books and 4,000+ videos" and calls it "The largest and most up-to-date collection of courses and books on iOS, Swift, Android, Kotlin, Flutter, Dart, AI and more!"
Programs are "Guided, step-by-step learning journeys that take you from zero to building real apps," combining "video courses, hands-on projects, and clear milestones." The Programs page says each follows a clear progression and rests on expert-led courses that blend video and written content, hands-on projects for a portfolio, and a logical sequence.
Bootcamps add "expert mentors, homework, a capstone project, and a completion certificate," and come either as self-paced On-Demand Bootcamps or as live, cohort-based bootcamps.
The programs
The programs page lists current programs with course counts and total running time:
- Beginning iOS & Swift: 5 courses, 22 hrs 34 mins, from Foundational Tools in iOS through SwiftUI, state management, networking and concurrency.
- Beginning Android & Kotlin: 6 courses, 29 hrs 9 mins, which the site says teaches Android "for learners with zero programming experience," from the Kotlin language and object-oriented programming to user interfaces, networking and a multiscreen app. The Start Here page adds that it runs "from your first project to publishing on the Play Store" with Jetpack Compose.
- Apple Intelligence: 3 courses, 9 hrs 10 mins, on building apps with Apple AI models and third-party AI.
- visionOS: 2 courses, 3 hrs 14 mins, for 3D experiences on Apple Vision Pro.
- Artificial Intelligence APIs with Python: 4 courses, 16 hrs 35 mins.
The home page also features a 5-Day Swift Coding Challenge, "A perfect challenge for complete beginners to find out whether coding and especially mobile development is for you!" Server-side Swift is another platform choice on the Start Here page.
A closer look at the AI APIs program
The Artificial Intelligence APIs with Python page shows how a program is built. It is listed as intermediate level, with an estimated time of "8 weeks at 16 hours per week." It runs from basic Python for AI to retrieval-augmented generation and AI agents, "with popular AI platforms such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Azure AI Services." Modules include Python for AI: A Crash Course (3 hrs 37 mins), Text Generation with OpenAI, Text Generation with Google Gemini, Retrieval-Augmented Generation with LangChain, AI Agents with LangGraph, RAG with Azure AI Search and Azure Content Safety. Recommended prerequisites are basic programming in any language and familiarity with web development and RESTful APIs. Five instructors are named.
Bootcamps and support
On-demand bootcamps "take place asynchronously so that you can work at your own pace and on your own schedule." Learners get a dedicated Discord channel, regular office hours, and mentor feedback on a capstone project. Most modules end with a homework assignment of quizzes or coding practice, after which learners can see a model answer.
The comparison table on the program page sets out the differences. A subscription includes expert content, real-world projects, hands-on coding, self-check quizzes and community features. The on-demand bootcamp adds homework with model answers, a certificate of completion, capstone mentor feedback and office hours. The live bootcamp adds right-sized cohorts, weekly live sessions, mentor feedback on homework and a fixed completion timeframe.
Graduates quoted on the site describe the experience. Martin S., an on-demand bootcamp graduate, credits "The lead mentor's enthusiastic guidance and the detailed feedback on homework" for his progress. Dez Blair, a Beginning iOS graduate, writes that the bootcamp "made me feel like junior level iOS Developer right off the bat."
Prices and refunds
The AI APIs program page lists both ways to pay. A subscription gives "Content-only access, available on monthly or annual plans," from $49.99. The On-Demand Bootcamp is a one-time payment shown as $500.00, reduced from $999.00. Kodeco also offers payment plans and a call with an advisor. The Start Here page notes that the bootcamp route needs no subscription; learners pay only for the program they want.
The withdrawal terms are spelled out. Learners on a monthly plan can cancel future billing or pause their membership for up to three months. Those who paid once are "eligible for a full refund within the first 14 days," though accessing "a significant portion of program materials" may affect eligibility. Withdrawal requests go to Kodeco's support email.
Teams, schools and community
Kodeco for Business promises to "Rightskill your dev team," and the menu also lists Kodeco for Teams, Kodeco for Schools and workshops. A testimonial from Joel at Bank of Peru says, "When there's a technical challenge, Kodeco for Business supports our engineers."
The community runs through Discord, forums, a podcast, a newsletter, a blog and Kodebits. A long-running program sends free Kodeco books to meetups and conferences on iOS, Swift, Android, Kotlin, Server Side Swift, Flutter or game tech, including online events; it is for groups, not individuals.
Who it suits
Kodeco suits anyone aiming at mobile development, from complete beginners trying the Swift challenge or Beginning Android & Kotlin to working iOS and Android developers using the library to learn SwiftUI, visionOS or Apple Intelligence. Developers adding AI to their apps have the Python AI APIs program. Learners who want a certificate and feedback can take a bootcamp, while those happy to study alone can subscribe. Web or general backend learners will find the catalog centered on mobile platforms.
