HPE Education Services
Tap a star to rate
HPE Education Services is the training and certification arm behind HPE's own technology, selling IT courses to individual professionals and to organizations that need whole teams trained. It covers HPE products such as GreenLake, HPE Aruba Networking and HPE ProLiant Compute, core IT disciplines from cloud and DevOps to storage and cybersecurity, and vendor training for names like Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Kubernetes and NVIDIA. The home page frames it as "expert-led training across HPE solutions, core IT disciplines, and emerging technologies like AI, cloud, and cybersecurity."
What a learner or a team gets
The site offers five training formats: virtual live training ("real-time online sessions with expert instructors"), in-person classes, self-paced eLearning available around the clock, customized training ("tailored programs for your organization") and networking workshops built around a customer's own network.
Instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (VILT) run live at a scheduled time. The UK page explains the difference plainly: ILT is taught onsite in a classroom and VILT is taught online only. Both include experienced instructors, course materials, and, with select classes, HPE Virtual Labs (HPE vLabs), described as "secure training labs that enable remote, hands-on practice." The site sells VILT as the same experience "without the time and cost of travel." A public course schedule lists current courses, dates and registration links, and the US site also publishes a Guaranteed to Run (GTR) schedule for classes that will go ahead.
Self-paced learning sits mainly in Digital Learner, the subscription. The home page says it gives "12 months of unlimited access to premium eLearning, certification prep, and live virtual sessions," with "anytime, anywhere access to thousands of courses covering technology and business skills." The cloud page lists what is inside: self-paced eLearning, hands-on virtual labs, videos, certification prep, testing, reporting, digital badges and options for instructor-led training, plus unlimited access to new and refreshed content during the subscription term. Subscription levels are named Bronze, Silver and Gold. With Silver, the cloud page says, a subscriber gets cloud-related courses plus learning paths for Certified Kubernetes Administrator, CompTIA Cloud+, GreenLake UI and HPE OpenStack, and certification training for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), CompTIA Cloud Essentials and Google Certified Cloud Architect. Gold subscribers get their own VILT schedule. There is also a Digital Learner SMB Edition with its own content library and a Solution Partner Edition for HPE partners.
Recent additions show how current the catalog is kept. The home page mentions new Digital Learner content for HPE Private Cloud AI, including HPE AI Essentials Administration, "providing a centralized certification path with labs and practice tests." It also lists four new HPE Private Cloud AI courses, updated AIOps Foundation and AI and Sustainability courses, and hands-on NVIDIA workshops on building agentic applications with LLMs.
Coding, cloud and certification prep
For a reader in the tech and coding category, the relevant parts are DevOps and IT containers, Linux, cloud and Microsoft training. The cloud catalog covers private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud, IT containers, DevOps and GreenLake, with course groups for HPE OpsRamp Software, HPE CloudOps Software Suite, Nutanix, SUSE Rancher, Microsoft Azure, HPE Ezmeral Container Platform, HPE Data Fabric and virtualization alternatives. Each course title opens a data sheet with the outline as a PDF.
Certification prep is a large part of the offer. The cloud page says its certification training covers both vendor-neutral and public cloud platforms from major cloud providers and is designed to help learners pass. Named Microsoft certifications include Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Fundamentals and Azure Security Engineer Associate, alongside AWS and VMware Certified: Cloud Management and Automation. Elsewhere the site lists training for ITIL, PRINCE2, EPI data center certification and the Project Management Institute, and AI compliance prep through the AI Compliance Professional (AICP) Certification Training for the EXIN AICP exam, with guidance on EU AI Act requirements. These courses prepare learners for exams set by those bodies; the credentials themselves come from the certifying organization.
Red Hat content is sold through Red Hat Learning Subscriptions in Course-level, Standard and Premium tiers. The cloud page says each tier "includes 12 months of access to a flexible mix of self-paced and live virtual training" and offers hands-on labs, instructor-led sessions, and up to five certification exams "with retakes included." That exam allowance belongs to the Red Hat subscriptions, not to Digital Learner. Course-level options come as 3-day, 4-day and 5-day courses.
Learning paths, sequences of courses "created by qualified HPE experts," are available for topics such as HPE Private Cloud AI and HPE OpsRamp Software.
Credentials, badges and free tools
Many courses now award redesigned digital badges that, in the site's words, let learners "share verified credentials on LinkedIn and other platforms with one click." The cloud page says badges are earned when completing select courses, so not every course carries one.
Through a partnership with EARTH 51 Academy, the site offers what it calls "CPD-accredited courses" on responsible AI, sustainability leadership and equity in the workplace. The news section says learners on those courses "earn a recognized certification" and have 1,000 kg of CO₂ offset on their behalf on completion. The CPD wording applies to these EARTH 51 courses, not to the catalog as a whole.
The digital skill advisor is a free online app that evaluates a person's IT skills and recommends a personalized learning path. A Knowledge Club program rewards repeat learners, and a monthly newsletter announces promotions and events.
Prices and how to buy
The site publishes no course or subscription prices on these pages. Digital Learner comes with a 7-day free trial, and the home page invites visitors to "see how subscription learning stretches your training dollars." Purchases run through several routes: direct subscription on the HPE Education website, HPE sales, HPE reseller partners and HPE support contracts. The cloud page even prints the SKU formats resellers use to quote a Digital Learner subscription, with the level number (4 for Bronze, 5 for Silver, 6 for Gold) inserted into the code.
Organizations can also buy Learning Credits: "buy training in advance and use it when your team is ready." The site says credits can be used for any training course offered by HPE Education, and account holders can check their credit balance and view a training transcript online.
Reach and support
The cloud page says the service offers "comprehensive worldwide training and certification prep for a diverse, global customer base (more than 90 countries)," and that HPE has "more than a decade of experience in on-prem cloud services." A country selector lists local sites across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. For questions, the site offers class-specific assistance, email, a phone line on the UK site and a global contact list, with experts who "can answer your course-related questions as well as help you arrange customized training solutions for your team."
Who it suits
HPE Education Services suits IT professionals who run HPE infrastructure, from storage and compute to GreenLake and Aruba networking, and want training from the vendor itself. It also fits engineers preparing for cloud, Kubernetes, Linux or Microsoft Azure certifications who want labs and live instructors rather than video alone. Enterprise L&D teams get the most from it: Learning Credits, customized programs, transcripts and reseller purchasing match how large IT departments buy training.
It is a weaker fit for a beginner learning to code from scratch, since the catalog centers on infrastructure, operations and certification rather than application programming. Anyone who wants to compare costs up front will need to contact HPE or a reseller, because prices are not on these pages. The 7-day Digital Learner trial and the free skills assessment are the easiest ways to judge it first.
