What VITA Academy is

VITA Academy is a Slovak online course library for adult learners and companies, run by VITA Academy s.r.o. from Tomášikova 50/A in Bratislava. VITA stands for Virtual IT Academy, and the About page describes it as an online learning platform that teaches programming, graphics, marketing and advertising, plus management skills and personal development. The homepage counts 687 courses on offer and "14 rokov skúseností" (14 years of experience). The About page calls VITA the largest IT e-learning platform in Slovakia and stresses that it teaches in Slovak, quoting the line "Sme slovenská lokálna vzdelávacia spoločnosť" (we are a Slovak local education company). The site has Slovak, English and Czech language switches, but the courses themselves are presented in Slovak.

The company history on the About page starts in 2012, when three classmates from STU FEI, Miroslav Reiter among them, founded a company called IT Academy. Between 2013 and 2015 it grew to 500+ in-person courses and its first 3000 students and companies, and ran its first e-learning platform on Moodle. Between 2015 and 2016 it gained accreditation from the Ministry of Education for its in-person courses and dropped Moodle. Between 2017 and 2018 a separate company was set up for the online courses, which became VITA Academy, and in 2019 it moved into its own premises in the Koloseo complex and opened a testing center for international certification exams. Professional title programs (BBA, MBA, DBA, MPA and MSc) were added in 2023 and 2024.

The course catalog

The catalog is split into subject areas that a learner picks from the menu. The coding side, under Programming and Software Development, carries courses such as ABAP Programming I (Beginner), Algorithms and Programming I (Beginner), Agile Scrum and How to Become a Software Tester, with Python and software testing tagged in the category. Operating systems covers Linux/Unix at beginner and intermediate levels, Docker, macOS, PC and Windows basics and Microsoft Windows III (Advanced). IT administration covers an IT administrator course and DevOps at two levels, and computer networks covers network fundamentals, Wi-Fi security, VoIP, network analysis, network design and Wireshark.

Business and data topics are just as deep. The SAP, ABAP and enterprise systems area lists SAP I (Beginner), SAP S/4 HANA basics, SAP administrator, SAP SD, SAP MM and SAP Query with report building. Data courses include Data Analysis I, How to Become a Database Analyst, Business Analysis (BABOK) and Data Science II. Marketing, advertising and law covers starting a WordPress blog, becoming a web analyst, starting an e-shop, Google Analytics 4, digital marketing, web information architecture and SEO, and local SEO. Graphics and multimedia lists Adobe Acrobat, 3ds Max, Adobe After Effects, AutoCAD, Photopea, Canva and an AI graphics course. Office software includes Google Sheets, Slides and Docs plus Microsoft Access up to VBA programming. Other menu areas are cybersecurity and data protection, finance and accounting, law and GDPR, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and management and personal development.

A Certification Preparation area targets exams: PRINCE2 Foundation, Microsoft Excel MO-200 and MO-201 (MOS), IREB CPRE requirements management, OCEB BPMN, and internal audit courses for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301 and ISO 20000-1.

Each course card shows a level: Začiatočník (Beginner), Mierne Pokročilý (Intermediate), Pokročilý (Advanced) or Expert, along with tags such as Novinka (new), Bestseller and Pripravujeme (in preparation). The edition plan page says the company adds roughly 3-10 courses every month depending on the season.

How the courses work

The About page describes the method as learning by doing, built on practical examples and projects, and says courses run up to 12+ hours each and are updated regularly. Learners get downloadable materials: presentations, handbooks, e-books, project and source files and cheat sheets. Access is online 24/7, and the About page lists one year of access to a course. The site adds gamification with badges, an IT IQ score and a Hall of Fame where learners can compare progress with colleagues.

Most course cards name Miroslav Reiter, the director and course guarantor, as the instructor; a macOS course is taught by Tomáš Lacko. The About page lists 6 lecturers and says instructors are certified trainers of companies such as Microsoft, Google and ISTQB. Learners receive certificates, and the About page counts 10000+ verified certificates issued. The site describes its courses as "Akreditované a certifikované kurzy" (accredited and certified courses), and the history refers to the Ministry of Education accreditation for in-person courses.

Prices, subscriptions and programs

Single courses are priced in euros, each shown with a sale price next to a higher list price. Examples from the homepage: the WordPress blog course at 184 € (from 242 €), How to Become a Web Analyst at 142 € (from 185 €), Data Analysis I at 286 € (from 324 €), How to Become a Database Analyst at 168 € (from 221 €), Docker I at 286 € (from 398 €), PRINCE2 Foundation at 312 € (from 438 €) and SAP Query with report building at 898 € (from 1 012 €). Bundles exist too, such as Back Office Specialist at 829,50 € and Network Administrator at 998,80 €.

The annual subscription to all online courses is listed at 590 € against a crossed-out 2290 €, with access to all current and upcoming courses for 12 months. Category subscriptions (programming languages, office software, marketing, data and analytics, graphics, IT administration) are each 490 € against 590 €.

Separately, VITA sells online programs leading to professional titles: BBA, MBA, DBA, MPA, DPA, BSc, MSc, DSc, LLM and EdD. The FAQ covers how study runs online, its length, fees, installments, the final thesis and how the diploma is delivered, and one question refers to a five-installment payment schedule. The edition plan page lists four LLM programs marked Pripravujeme, each worth 60 credits and priced at 1 940 € against 2 540 €: Správne konanie a verejná správa (administrative procedure and public administration), Spotrebiteľské právo a reklamné predpisy v online priestore (consumer law and advertising rules online), Právo umelej inteligencie AI a digitálnych technológií (law of AI and digital technologies) and Právo startupov, investorov a rizikového kapitálu (startup, investor and venture capital law). These are professional titles from VITA; the site does not describe them as university degrees.

Companies, job offices and support

For organizations, VITA offers discounted company multi-licenses from 3 users, corporate training, and courses for schools, nonprofits and the public sector. The edition plan page invites companies to request custom online courses or a live online course for a stated number of participants. VITA also works with the Slovak labor office (Úrad práce, ÚPSVaR): courses can be reimbursed through programs the About page names as Zručnosti pre trh práce, KOMPAS and REPAS, with separate offers for unemployed and employed learners. The FAQ also covers paying through an employer or employee benefits.

The site statistics list 17600 course enrollments, 5700+ students and 12 partners. Support runs by phone on weekdays from 10:00 to 16:00 and by e-mail, answered every working day, and the About page mentions an AI chatbot called MIRA that answers outside office hours. The FAQ is organized into getting started, account, troubleshooting, completing a course, purchases and invoices, and choosing a course or certification.

Who it suits

VITA Academy fits Slovak-speaking learners who want practical IT, SAP, data, office or marketing skills from one library, especially those whose fees a labor office program can cover. The 590 € annual pass makes sense for someone planning several courses in a year, and the exam preparation courses suit people working toward PRINCE2, MOS or ISO internal audit certificates. Small companies can buy multi-licenses from three users. The catalog leans heavily on one main instructor, and the courses are in Slovak, so it suits learners comfortable in the language rather than international teams.
