Sorbil

Tap a star to rate

Sorbil is a Turkish-language online course library sold by subscription. One Premium membership opens every course on the platform, every new course added later and an AI tutor the company calls Billy. The homepage says all courses are prepared and reviewed by experts, describes its certificates as international, and reports a 4.8 rating and "250.000+ Kullanıcı" (250,000+ users). The contact block gives an address at İTÜ Teknokent in Maslak, Sarıyer, Istanbul. The reader it serves is an individual learner who reads Turkish and wants to study a foreign language, programming, office and business skills or personal development at their own pace. The menu also links to a Business section and to an "Eğitmen Ol" (become an instructor) page.

The catalog

Courses sit in four categories: Yabancı Dil (foreign languages), Kurumsal (business and workplace skills), Yazılım (software) and Kişisel Gelişim (personal development). The homepage describes the library as "Yüzlerce Eğitim" (hundreds of courses) and says new courses are uploaded every month.

Foreign languages is the most visible category, and the courses shown start at the A1 beginner level. The homepage lists English A1 by Ayşe Begüm Arslan (rated 4.7), German A1 by Didem Altuntaş (4.4), French A1 by Tuğçe Dik (4.3), Spanish A1 by Şevval Kozanoğlu (4.7), Korean A1 by Ceren Cansu (4.5) and a new Italian A1 course by Kaan Kumaş. For a Turkish speaker, that is a single subscription covering a first step in six languages, each taught in Turkish by a named teacher.

Software courses follow a "from zero to advanced" pattern. The homepage shows Sıfırdan İleriye JavaScript (HTML, CSS), rated 4.6, and Sıfırdan İleriye C, both by Özgür Boran Mollaoğlu, and Sıfırdan İleriye FastAPI by Ebubekir Yazıcı. Together they cover front-end web basics, a systems language and a Python web framework.

Business and workplace courses include Sıfırdan İleri Seviye Excel (Excel from zero to advanced level) by Veysel Kaan Albostan, rated 4.4, a presentation skills course by Sibel Sağlam Saçal rated 4.9, and a diction, communication and body language course by Hakan Erörs rated 4.5. A new AI literacy course by Semih Özdaş sits among the latest additions.

Personal development ranges from a mindfulness course by İbrahim Yakın, rated 4.5, to a Pilates toning course by Kader Oruç, rated 4.4, which shows the category reaches into health and fitness as well as soft skills.

Every course card names its instructor and, once learners have rated it, shows a score out of 5. Labels mark courses as Popüler (popular) or Yeni (new), and the homepage has separate rows for the newest additions and for the courses with the most participants.

Billy, the AI tutor

Billy is the feature Sorbil puts first. The homepage calls Billy "tüm eğitimlerde uzman olan eğitmen yapay zekadır" (the tutor AI that is an expert in all the courses) and a learner's personal tutor. According to the site, Billy joins the learner in the course and tracks which lesson they have watched. Without leaving the course, it generates unlimited exercises, topic explanations and exams on the subject just covered. It checks the learner's answers, explains the correct ones and answers questions about the topic instantly. A chat box on the homepage invites visitors to ask Billy anything about Sorbil and its courses. The company ties Billy to what it calls personalized learning journeys, its phrase for a study route fitted to each learner.

For a self-paced learner this is the part that replaces a teacher's office hours: the practice questions and explanations come from inside the lesson rather than from a separate forum or a booked session.

Certificates

The homepage promises an international certificate "Tamamlanan Her Eğitim İçin" (for every completed course). The site names no accrediting or awarding body for it. It is a completion certificate from Sorbil, useful as a record of study for a CV, and the homepage makes no claim that it counts as a formal qualification.

Membership and pricing

Sorbil sells one product, Premium, on two billing terms:

  • Monthly Premium: ₺199,99 a month.
  • Annual Premium: ₺959,99 a year, shown against a higher crossed-out list price and described as 60% cheaper than paying monthly.

A banner at the top of the homepage advertises an extra 20% limited-time discount on the annual subscription. Premium includes unlimited access to all current courses, to every new course uploaded each month and to the AI tutor. The subscription renews automatically each month or year until the member cancels, and the FAQ headings ask whether Premium can be canceled at any time and how to cancel. Signing up for an account is free; the courses themselves sit behind Premium.

What the company promises

The homepage sums up the offer in four short promises: Billy as "Özel Eğitmenin" (your private tutor), "Uzman Eğitmenler, Denetlenmiş Eğitimler" (expert instructors, reviewed courses), "Sınırsız Erişim, Yüzlerce Eğitim" (unlimited access, hundreds of courses) and an international certificate for every completed course. Under the heading of why to choose Sorbil, the company says its main aim is for users to learn effectively, and names three means to that end: its interactive AI, its personalized learning journeys and courses prepared by experts. The Sorbil blog backs the catalog with Turkish guides on topics such as building a brand with Shopify, CV and LinkedIn optimization, preparing for ÖSYM exams and learning with Billy.

Access and apps

Learners can use Sorbil on the website or through the mobile app, which the site says is available on the App Store and Google Play Store. The FAQ section covers the usual questions: what Sorbil is, what Premium includes, where to get the app, what Billy can do, the refund policy, the Premium price, whether Premium covers every course, who the instructors are, and whether new courses arrive every month. Support is reached through a contact block with an email address and the Istanbul office address.

Who it suits

Sorbil suits a Turkish-speaking learner on a budget who wants one subscription for a broad set of practical courses: a beginner in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian or Korean, someone teaching themselves JavaScript, C or FastAPI, an office worker improving Excel or presentations, or a person interested in mindfulness or Pilates. The annual plan lowers the monthly cost considerably, and Billy's built-in exercises and explanations help someone studying alone. The language courses shown are beginner level, so a learner further along should check that the catalog reaches their level. The courses are taught in Turkish, so the platform is for Turkish readers first.
