SkillPath is a workplace training company that sells business skills courses to individual professionals and to organizations. Its homepage says it has trained more than 15 million professionals in more than 35 years in business. The offer runs on two tracks. An individual can register for a single in-person workshop, live virtual workshop, scheduled webinar or on-demand course, or buy SkillPath Unlimited, which the site describes as "a full year of unlimited access to training for one low price". An organization can book group training, license SkillPath content for its own LMS, or use what the site calls SkillPath's Learning Experience Platform. The catalog is soft skills and office skills rather than technical or academic subjects: management, communication, HR, compliance and Microsoft Office. SkillPath also runs a Canadian site at skillpath.ca with the same offer.

The catalog

SkillPath groups its courses into four areas, each with named subjects on the homepage:

  • Business and Technology: Microsoft Office, admin support, business writing and project management.
  • Leadership and Management: supervisory and management training, coaching and mentoring, and performance management.
  • People Skills: personal development, communication, customer service and time management.
  • Workplace Compliance: HR, OSHA and safety, finance and accounting, and cybersecurity.

The course finder on the personal development page shows the scale of each area, with 80 titles under Business and Technology, 77 under Leadership and Management, 74 under People Skills and 61 under Workplace Compliance. It filters by format, by duration (from 10 minutes or less up to three days or less), by upcoming dates, by location, by price, by whether a course is included in SkillPath Unlimited and by accreditation.

The personal development category alone lists 26 courses. Typical titles are Developing Your Emotional Intelligence, Strengthening Your People Skills in the Workplace, Developing Professional Presence and Master Workplace Problem Solving as three-hour live virtual workshops; Leading Without Authority, Managing Workplace Conflict and Critical Thinking Skills for Better Decision Making as one-hour live sessions; and webinars on handling emotionally charged situations, managing gossip, personality clashes, workplace boundaries, SMART goals, business etiquette and negotiating with suppliers. The category is practical and pitched at the everyday problems of office life.

Each course card shows the format, the running time, the next dates and the price, with a Register Now button for dated sessions and Add to cart for titles without a scheduled date. Popular live sessions repeat often: Leading Without Authority and Managing Workplace Conflict each show six dates between October and December, so a learner who misses one session can usually pick another within weeks. Every category page also carries a form to ask about customized group training on the same topics.

Formats

The site sells four formats. In-person workshops cover administrative support, communication, human resources, leadership and management, and project management. Live virtual workshops cover the same ground plus Microsoft Office products, and are run on scheduled dates; one emotional intelligence workshop lists five upcoming dates in a single autumn. Scheduled webinars are one-hour sessions on a fixed date, and the homepage counts "500+ one-hour webinars". On-demand training is self-paced and, in the site's words, available 24/7, with on-demand titles in customer service, Microsoft Office products and workplace compliance. The Unlimited panel adds that all courses are accessible on any device.

Prices and SkillPath Unlimited

Single courses carry prices on the category page. Live virtual workshops and scheduled webinars there are listed at $149 or $199 each, and a 30 minute on-demand course, The Essentials of Emotional Intelligence, at $49. Most of those live titles are marked "Included in Unlimited + Live", while a few webinars and the on-demand course carry no such label, so not every title sits inside every pass.

SkillPath Unlimited is the annual pass. The homepage lists what it covers as "6000+ LIVE, virtual courses", 500+ one-hour webinars, on-demand options available 24/7 and access on any device. The course finder separates two levels, "Included in SkillPath Unlimited" and "Included in SkillPath Unlimited + LIVE". The site gives no price for either pass. The homepage stats block counts "2,000 +" live and online courses, a different figure from the 6,000+ in the Unlimited panel, and the site does not reconcile the two.

Credits and certificates

For learners who need continuing education credit, the homepage says "Hundreds of courses qualify for HRCI, SHRM and NABSA credits", and the menu lists HRCI, SHRM and NASBA (spelled that way there) under continuing education. In the personal development category the filter shows eight courses tagged HRCI and eight tagged SHRM. SkillPath also offers "accelerated certificate programs" in partnership with Graceland University. These are certificate programs, not degrees. The footer links to a page of accreditations and to a SkillPath Satisfaction Guarantee.

For teams and organizations

The group training panel says that each year "thousands of organizations from the private, federal and nonprofit sectors" work with SkillPath's trainers. The organization offer has four parts: live and virtual courses tailored for a company, on-demand courses and ready resources, SkillPath's Learning Experience Platform, and "exclusive content licensing for your LMS". The consultation form lets a buyer pick Content Licensing/SCORM, on-demand, on-site instructor-led training or virtual instructor-led training, and asks for the number of learners in bands from just me through fewer than 10, 10 to 50, 51 to 100 and more than 100. That makes SkillPath usable both as a training provider that sends a trainer and as a content library an L&D team loads into its own LMS as SCORM packages. Organization pricing is quoted after that consultation.

Support

SkillPath lists a toll-free phone line, 1-800-873-7545, plus a contact page, a customer service login and a separate SkillPath Unlimited login. The footer also links to free resources, a blog, newsletters and a page about its trainers.

Who it suits

SkillPath suits office professionals who want short, practical sessions on management, communication, emotions at work or Office software, delivered live by a trainer or as a one-hour webinar. HR and accounting staff who need HRCI, SHRM or NASBA credit will find courses tagged for it. A professional who plans to attend several sessions a year is the natural buyer of the Unlimited pass, while someone who needs one workshop can pay for it alone.

For L&D teams it is a training library with two routes: buy SkillPath-delivered sessions for a group, or license the content for an existing LMS. It is less of a fit for anyone looking for technical, academic or coding courses, which the catalog does not cover, or for a learner who needs a degree rather than a certificate program.
