Skillbox

Skillbox is a Russian online education platform for adults who want a new profession or a new skill, with a separate offer for children. The home page calls it "образовательная платформа с онлайн-курсами" (an educational platform with online courses) and counts "Более 700 программ для карьеры и жизни", more than 700 programs for career and life. The footer describes Skillbox as a cloud platform for digital education, listed in the Russian software register, and says its LMS "Skillbox 2.0" belongs to ООО «Скилбокс». The company's address is in Moscow, and the site and every course are in Russian.

Professions and skills

The catalog is split two ways. A "Профессия" (profession) is a long program that takes a beginner to a new job, usually with employment support; a "Курс" (course) teaches one skill. The home page shows typical lengths: Python developer, 10 months with job placement support; accountant, 6 months; graphic designer, 12 months; 3D generalist, 13 months; marketplace manager, 7 months; and a 3-month practical course on neural networks that covers 7 leading AI tools. The Python profession promises 3 portfolio projects and help from the Career Center in finding work.

The subject areas are programming, design, analytics, marketing, management, finance, games, film and music, marketplaces, engineering, neural networks and English. The catalog filters go deeper. Programming splits into backend, web development, data analysis, IT infrastructure and neural networks for code. Design covers digital design, environmental design, fashion and photography. Management covers finance and entrepreneurship, project and product management, and management and analytics. Marketing runs from brand and performance marketing to e-commerce. Games includes game development, graphics and animation and board games; film and music includes music and video; engineering has a drone school and a robotics school. There are also psychology, general development, career and a "Цифровой колледж" (digital college) section, and the menu adds an online college. Many current titles carry "+ ИИ" (plus AI), such as Python developer + AI, UX/UI designer + AI and project manager + AI.

The home page also groups courses by goal, for example 27 courses for freelancing from anywhere, 15 courses on understanding yourself and your emotions, 13 on designing for big brands and 22 on starting in IT without programming.

Courses for course creators

The LMS topic page shows that Skillbox teaches people to build online courses as well. It lists 4 programs: a 3-month course for education methodologists, a 6-month methodologist profession "с нуля до PRO + ИИ" (from zero to PRO, plus AI) with job placement support, a 6-month profession for online course producers, and a 3-month course on producing online courses. The page explains that skills with learning management systems are in demand in digital education and that Skillbox's EdTech courses teach how to create online education products.

Programs built with partners

Several programs are made together with outside organizations. The home page lists nutrition science (8 months) with МГМУ им. И. М. Сеченова (Sechenov University) and the Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology, front-end development (9 months) with Gazprombank.Tech, financial analysis (7 months) with Fintablo, SEO (12 months) with the international digital agency AMDG, motion design (12 months) with Trehmer CG studio, marketplace management (7 months) with Yandex Market, Ozon and JoomPro, and accounting (6 months) with 1C. Speakers named on the page include engineers and managers from Sberbank, PSB bank, MTS, CDEK, Mindbox and VK.

How studying works

Skillbox describes four supports. Curators: "Каждую вашу работу проверит куратор-эксперт", every piece of work is checked by an expert curator, a practicing specialist with at least 5 years of experience who explains what to improve. The Career Center teaches interview skills, helps build a resume and portfolio, picks vacancies and recommends graduates to partner companies. Practice: theory is reinforced on real tasks from a specialist's daily work, and final projects form a portfolio. Community: students discuss questions in chats, form teams for group projects and take part in creative contests and hackathons.

The schedule is "Свободный график без дедлайнов", a free schedule without deadlines, so study fits around work. Access is "Бессрочный доступ к курсу и обновлениям", permanent access to the course and its updates. The home page shows student project galleries by year, and the site runs webinars, a media section, free courses and a free career orientation: a short test (about 30 minutes, 34 professions on the page) followed by a consultation with a career counselor.

Diplomas, certificates and license

On completion learners receive "диплом о профессиональной переподготовке или сертификат установленного образца", a professional retraining diploma or a certificate of the established form; the page says a consultant can tell you which document a given program gives. Skillbox says it teaches under state license №Л035−1 298−77/179 609, and the footer cites the federal law on licensing. The consultation form also mentions programs with a state-standard diploma ("дипломом гос. образца").

Results the site claims

The home page states "141 000+ выпускников уже нашли работу мечты!" (141,000+ graduates have already found their dream job) and "700+ компаний доверяют выпускникам Skillbox" (700+ companies trust Skillbox graduates). It calls Skillbox "№1 по качеству обучения" (No. 1 for quality of teaching). It says 93% of graduates consider that Skillbox helped them reach their goal, linked to a study, and "85% студентов находят работу в первые 3 месяца после обучения" (85% of students find work in the first 3 months after training), "Подтверждено исследованием Высшей школы экономики", confirmed by a study from the Higher School of Economics. The footer lists Runet Prize awards for 2018 through 2023. These are the company's own statements and the scope of each survey is as the site gives it.

Prices, payment and the refund promise

The site shows no course prices on these pages; prices sit on each program's page and in a consultation. A banner advertises a discount of up to 55% with an AI course as a gift, and the footer links to a payment page, a sale, friend discounts and a partner program. The strongest commercial term is the job promise: "Вернём деньги, если не найдёте работу. Это зафиксировано юридически." (We'll refund your money if you don't find a job. This is set down legally.) The site points to its refund conditions for the details.

For children and businesses

Skillbox Kids and a "Для детей" (for children) section carry courses for kids. For organizations the menu offers "Для бизнеса" and "Корпоративным клиентам" (corporate clients), plus "Найти сотрудника" for employers hiring graduates; the pages give no detail on corporate plans.

Who it suits and who it does not

Skillbox suits Russian-speaking adults who want to change careers and are ready for a program of 6 to 13 months with curator review, a portfolio and Career Center help, and anyone who wants one practical skill in a few months. Course creators and methodologists can learn course production and instructional design here. Parents can look at Skillbox Kids. It suits less well anyone who does not read Russian, learners who want to compare prices before speaking to a consultant, or people who want a large choice of independent instructors on one topic: Skillbox designs its own programs.
