Reliance Foundation Skilling Academy

Tap a star to rate

Reliance Foundation Skilling Academy is a skills platform for young people in India, run by Reliance Foundation, which its About page describes as "the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries Limited". It is a learner product: a catalog of self-paced courses in employability and 21st-century skills, paired with one-to-one mentorship from industry experts and a section of job openings. The home page title promises "Free Certificate" courses in skill and personal development, and nothing on the site asks a learner to pay.

The About page explains why it exists. It opens with "India is a country of young people" and says many young people need support in accessing quality education and building careers, so Reliance Foundation set up the Academy to help them shape their futures. The site calls itself a single destination for career needs: courses, personal mentorship and work opportunities from across industries.

The three parts of the platform

The About page names a "three-pronged approach": skill development, mentorship and job opportunities. A learner can use any one of them, and the home page gives each its own entry point, "Explore Courses", "Enrol as a Mentee" and "Explore Now" for jobs, plus a separate "Enrol as a Mentor" button for professionals who want to give advice rather than receive it.

Skill development

The course side is described as "An open-access repository of self-paced learning courses that include 21st-century and employability skills for future-ready competencies". The About page adds that the courses "facilitate skilling, upskilling, and reskilling to lead to meaningful employment" and that they are "Carefully designed by leading minds and tailored to self-learning", addressing "the current and emerging skill requirements in various industries". In other words, the courses are written by the Academy for people studying alone, not uploaded by independent instructors, and they are aimed at getting or keeping a job rather than at academic study.

The home page sums up the learning side in four phrases: flexible learning, continuous upskilling, enhanced competencies and career progression. The course page's own description speaks of job-ready skill development courses with online certification, covering 21st-century skills, management and technology.

The All Courses page has a search box and a duration filter with four bands: less than 50 hours, 50 to 150 hours, 150 to 250 hours and more than 250 hours. That filter is a useful signal of scale. These are not five-minute lessons; the platform expects some courses to run to hundreds of hours of study, which fits a program meant to prepare a young person for work. The page itself names no individual courses, so the catalog is browsed on the platform.

Certificates

Courses come with a certificate, and the site runs a public Certificate Verification page. An employer or anyone else enters the certificate ID, answers a captcha, and the system checks it. For a young job seeker, a certificate that a recruiter can verify online is more useful than a PDF alone. The site presents these as certificates of course completion from the Academy; it makes no claim that they are degrees, diplomas or accredited qualifications.

Mentorship

The mentorship program is what sets the Academy apart from a plain course library. The home page describes it as "Personalised 1-1 mentorship, led by industry experts", which "provides youth invaluable insights into job opportunities, educational courses, and prevailing market trends". The About page says the platform "connects youth in search of guidance to industry experts who can mentor them" and stresses the value of experience when young people make "crucial career decisions". The benefits listed are personalized guidance, networking opportunities, industry knowledge, new perspectives and personal growth.

Mentoring runs both ways on the site. Young people sign up as mentees; working professionals sign up as mentors under the line "Be the wind beneath the next generation’s wings". The home page counts 3203 mentees so far.

Job opportunities

The third part is a section of job openings. The home page describes "Streamlined access to job opportunities aligned with skills, focused on future-oriented jobs", running from "crafting an impactful resume to finding the right job". The About page says the platform "features employment opportunities from across industries" and, through a streamlined application process, "makes it easy for youth to access relevant opportunities according to their skill sets and supports them throughout the process, right from crafting resumes to finding the right job and preparing for it." The home page lists the benefits as a streamlined job search, a simplified application process and career advancement support.

Scale and reach

The home page publishes an Impact panel with four figures: 1001802 youth reached, 492006 youth skilled, 63882 jobs accessed and 3203 mentees. These are the Academy's own counts, and "jobs accessed" is the site's term; it does not say how many of those led to hires.

A Reach panel lists the states and territories where the program operates, from Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Bihar through Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal, plus Delhi NCR, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The parent organization is large. The About page says Reliance Foundation is led by Smt. Nita M Ambani, Founder and Chairperson, works across rural transformation, education, health, sports for development, disaster management, women, urban renewal and arts, culture and heritage, and "has touched the lives of over 7.7 crore people across India, in over 55,550 villages and urban locations". The home page also carries an announcement for Reliance Foundation Scholarships 2026, and the menu has a Skilling Initiatives section alongside the online platform.

What learners say

The home page carries six testimonials, each with a name and a state. Pushpendra kumar from Punjab writes: "The time and process management skills I acquired through Reliance Foundation’s skilling programme have made me confident, punctual, disciplined and calm. Now I am working with better pay and in a good position." Gudiya Kumari from Bihar writes: "By helping me understand consumer behaviours, the skilling programme completely transformed my life and career in ways I never imagined possible." Sarathi Mukhia from Sikkim credits the communication skills acquired through the program, and Nayan Soni from Madhya Pradesh puts the case for skills over marks: "Studying to get marks is one thing but developing skills is an entirely different thing." Seema Gupta from Uttar Pradesh and Neha Prasad from Maharashtra round out the set.

The testimonials point to the kind of learner the Academy reaches: young people in work or looking for it, often outside the big cities, who gained communication, process management or customer skills that helped them into a job or a better one.

Access and support

Learners sign in through a Login link, and the site shows no prices, plans or fees. The About page invites anyone with questions about the program to reach out through a Contact Us link, and the footer links to an FAQ, the certificate check, the terms and the Academy's social channels. The site also shows an "Our Partners" section on the home page.

Who it suits and who it does not

The Academy suits young people in India who want job-oriented skills at no cost, especially those who lack a professional network: the mix of courses, a mentor from industry and a list of openings covers the path from learning to applying. Someone choosing between career options, a graduate preparing for a first job, or a worker trying to move up will all find a part of the platform that fits. Professionals who want to give back can sign up as mentors.

It suits less well a learner who wants a university degree or a licensed professional qualification; the site offers verifiable course certificates, not academic credit. The courses are self-paced, so they reward learners who can study on their own over long stretches, given that some run past 250 hours. The site addresses the youth of India throughout, and it is a philanthropic program for individual young people rather than a training library a company buys for its staff.
