What EdEra is

EdEra is a Ukrainian online education studio. It runs a public catalog of online courses that anyone can register for, most of them free, and it builds courses, learning platforms and educational games to order for government, business and the public sector. The English home page says "The studio was founded in 2014", and the Ukrainian page says the studio has created more than 200 educational products since then, from online courses to national learning platforms and games, and that more than 2,000,000 users learn with it. The counters on both versions of the home page read "180+ educational projects", "2М active users" and "700К social media subscribers". The footer names the legal entity as Educational Era.

So EdEra has two readers. A learner, often a Ukrainian teacher, student or civil servant, uses the course catalog. An organization that needs a course, an onboarding program or a whole learning portal hires the studio, or uses EdEraLMS, the studio's own learning management system.

The course catalog for learners

The Ukrainian home page describes "EdEra courses for everyone" as free online courses on topical subjects, from media literacy to entrepreneurship, taken in a convenient format whenever the learner likes. The English page says the studio develops "both free and paid online courses and other educational products with top experts and high-quality materials."

The topic list covers courses for educators, civic education, finance and economics, inclusion, preparation for the national multi-subject test (НМТ), psychology and medicine, media literacy, history, culture, anti-corruption, technical education and IT, ecology and accessibility. Each course card is tagged with its audience, its language and its price status. The cards on the current pages are all marked "Безоплатний" (free).

On the Ukrainian side the newest courses show how specific the catalog gets. There is a basic course for parents and guardians of children with disabilities on their rights, social services and advocacy; a ready-made lesson kit for teachers on barrier-free language, "Мова гідності" (the language of dignity); "Місія: Вода", a set of materials for an interactive ecology lesson on water use; a course on applying the International Classification of Functioning in schools, aimed at teachers and specialists of inclusive resource centers; "Голос доступності", a course for volunteers on making a community more accessible; and a course for people in the security and defense sector on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325, "Women, Peace and Security", in Ukraine.

The English catalog is smaller and focused on Ukraine for a foreign audience: "Crimea: History and People" on the history of Crimea and the Crimean Tatars, "Democracy: From Theory to Practice" on democracy, human rights, constitutionalism in Ukraine and active citizenship, "Ukraine: History, Culture and Identities", an introductory course for English-speaking students, and "Ukrainian Culture: Understanding the Country and Its People". The English page also shows an AURORAL Academy course.

Learning follows the same five steps on both language versions: choose an online course, register, learn from anywhere at any time, pass the tests, and get a certificate. Several learner reviews on the Ukrainian page mention finishing a course and receiving the certificate. The pages describe it as a course certificate and say nothing more about its standing, so a learner should treat it as proof of completion. The English page sums up the experience as "An interactive platform, prompt feedback, and your own studying pace will help you enjoy learning", with teachers "from international and Ukrainian organizations and businesses."

The subscription library for teachers

Alongside the free catalog, the Ukrainian home page lists a paid product marked "За підпискою" (by subscription): professional development for educators, described as a library of video lectures and useful materials for teachers' professional growth, with "Тільки практичні знання" (only practical knowledge). The site menu calls this the EdEra Library, and the topic list carries an "EdEra Premium α" entry. The pages give no subscription price.

The studio also publishes EdEra Media, articles on innovation in education, teaching and future skills. Recent pieces include research with the Tokarev Foundation on why children struggle with math, an article on STEM education in Ukraine, a case study on making "Слідство веде НАБУ 2" (an interactive game for the anti-corruption bureau) and a piece on how teachers can look after themselves.

Custom courses and corporate training

For organizations, EdEra describes four lines of work on its Ukrainian home page. Socially important projects help public, educational and business organizations build large education projects aimed at long-term social change. Corporate training develops corporate courses, onboarding and team training programs end to end. EdComms is the studio's communications agency, offering strategy, SMM, PR and community development. EdEraLMS is the learning platform (below).

The English partnership section says EdEra "can create an interactive game, a comprehensive learning platform, and a series of educational videos" and can "help you develop an onboarding platform and a corporate learning system." The Ukrainian version adds that the studio has spent more than ten years building online courses, platforms and games, and picks a format for each brief: interactive games (as for the anti-corruption bureau NABU), educational series (as for the Ministry of Digital Transformation) or internship courses (as for Genesis). It also says EdEra has its own R&D unit and a set of business process products called EdEra Solutions. The research claim behind this is stated plainly: "We know how fast you read texts, which formulas you most often forget, and how many seconds of video your attention span covers."

The partner feedback on the home page gives four examples. For the Central Election Commission, the studio built the "CEC: Prosvita" learning portal, a customized platform for different audiences "in just four months", with "Almost 100 educational videos, quests, and gamified modules" explaining how elections work; the quote is signed by a product manager at the Council of Europe. Coca-Cola Ukraine says it developed "a special course for HoReCa entrepreneurs" with EdEra and that "Different formats of materials allow students to learn at their own pace." The founder of the Backstage beauty salon chain says the two "created an automated onboarding for our employees." The Ukrainian Institute says it has worked with EdEra since 2020 on three projects "that became the first English-language online courses about Ukraine."

New partners write to partnerships@ed-era.com. The site publishes no prices for custom work.

EdEraLMS

EdEraLMS is described as a "Learning management system, розроблена експертами в онлайн-освіті" (built by online education experts) and as a system for creating, launching and scaling online courses and educational programs, with "Усе необхідне для організації навчання в одному рішенні" (everything needed to organize learning in one solution). The home page offers a "Спробувати" (try it) button. A 2024 blog post by an EdEra co-founder explains the background: the studio started with Moodle, tried Articulate, moved to Open edX and used GitBook for interactive e-books, found open-source platforms hard to maintain and scale as users grew, and in the end built its own learning management system. The pages do not list EdEraLMS features or plans.

Support and community

Learners with a problem in a course write to connect@ed-era.com. The studio keeps an active presence across Instagram, Facebook, Viber, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Telegram, plus a Viber community for school students and a Facebook community for teachers; the page says "700 000 підписників стежать за нами в соцмережах" (700,000 followers on social media). The LinkedIn channel covers the team and its projects in English.

Who it suits and who it does not

EdEra suits Ukrainian teachers, school students preparing for the national test, parents, volunteers and public servants who want free, carefully produced courses in Ukrainian, and English speakers who want a free introduction to Ukrainian history, culture and democracy. Teachers who want ongoing professional development can look at the subscription library. Public bodies, NGOs and companies that want a studio to design a course, an onboarding program, an educational game or a full portal will find a long record of such projects on the home page.

It is not a place to buy career credentials: the pages promise a course certificate, nothing about credits or degrees. The catalog is in Ukrainian and English only, and the English side is small. A creator looking for a self-serve platform to sell their own courses will find EdEraLMS, but the pages give no feature list or pricing for it.
