What it is

Quiz Maker by AYS Pro is a WordPress plugin for building quizzes, exams and personality tests inside your own WordPress site. The homepage pitches it at anyone who wants to "make engaging quizzes, advanced exams, and personality tests with just a few clicks." It is for site owners, teachers, trainers, course creators and marketers who already run WordPress and want assessments that sit on their own pages rather than on an outside service. The plugin comes in a free version, downloaded from WordPress.org, and a paid Pro version with more features.

The homepage puts its reach in four numbers: 30,000+ active installations, 3M+ downloads, 50M+ responses collected and a 4.9/5 user rating, described as "Rated 4.9/5 on WordPress.org." The footer copyright runs from 2014 to 2026.

How you build a quiz

The homepage lays the workflow out in four steps. You add questions on the Questions page, build a quiz on the Quizzes page, fill in its title and attach the questions you created, then copy the quiz's shortcode and paste it into any post or page. Questions live in their own pool first and are pulled into quizzes afterwards, so one question can be reused. The FAQ says the plugin "doesn't have any limitations" and that you can add an unlimited number of questions and answers.

The feature menu names the building blocks: an AI question builder to "generate quiz questions faster", 10+ question types, auto grading and scoring, manual grading, conditional logic for a "smart question flow", certificates, payments, reports and analytics, and integrations. The company's ProProfs alternatives article lists the question types as multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, dropdown, short answer, number, date, matching and custom banners, and says images, videos and audio can be added to questions. The same article mentions question banks for randomization, timers, password protection, scheduling and conditional logic.

Bulk work is covered too. The homepage says you can "bulk export/import questions in the XLSX, CSV, JSON and Simple XLSX file formats," which matters if you are moving a question bank from a spreadsheet or another tool.

What quiz takers experience

The homepage lists the quiz kinds the plugin targets: personality test, trivia quiz, IQ test, lead generation, scored quiz, assessment quiz and pre-employment test. Its Solutions menu adds three use cases with their own pages: a Personality Quiz, an Exam Builder and a Product Recommendation quiz. Personality quizzes are built with the plugin's Intervals and Keywords features, according to the FAQ, so answers map to an outcome rather than to a right or wrong score.

Timers work at two levels. The FAQ says the plugin "offers a timer feature for both the whole quiz and for each question separately," switched on under a quiz's Settings tab with the Enable Timer option. The homepage frames timed quizzes as a way to "promote time management and prevent cheating." Randomization and shuffling of questions and answers is there to "minimize the cheating probability and provide unique experience for all quiz takers." Password-protected quizzes keep a test away from people you have not let in.

After a quiz, results can go out by email. The FAQ says you can send emails to quiz takers on completion, including "a detailed results report," set under the quiz's Email & Certificate tab. The alternatives article adds that results can show different messages based on score ranges and that certificate issuance can be automated when a user reaches a specific score. The homepage describes certificates as custom documents you send "to indicate the successful completion of the quiz." That is a completion certificate you design and issue yourself; the plugin does not say it carries any outside recognition.

Branding, leads and selling

Design is handled from the dashboard. The homepage says you can "select a theme, add your logo, set fonts, choose layouts, and use 30+ more style options," and it offers ready-made templates for a personality quiz, an IQ quiz and a trivia quiz to start from.

Lead capture is a headline feature. The plugin collects "the info/data of the quiz takers" to "generate leads and learn more about your target audience." The integrations section says there are 15+ advanced integrations and names MailChimp, Klaviyo, Google Sheets, Campaign Monitor, Aweber, MyCred, Zapier, GamiPress, Sendinblue, WooCommerce, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Slack, MadMimi, ChatGPT, Mailpoet, ConvertKit, GetResponse, PayPal and Stripe. The alternatives article says linking Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or GetResponse lets you add quiz takers to an email list and trigger follow-up after they finish.

For selling, the Payments feature is described as "secure paid quizzes," with PayPal, Stripe and WooCommerce among the named integrations. A homepage article titled "Boost Your Earnings with Quiz Maker Plugin" covers how to "monetize your website" with paid quizzes. Reports and analytics give "insights into the quiz takers performance"; the alternatives article says they show completion rates, average scores, popular answers and individual performance.

Plans, prices and refunds

The free version is on WordPress.org, and the FAQ walks through building a quiz with it: install, add questions, create the quiz, adjust style and settings. The company's alternatives article notes that the free version "is a bit limited according to some user reviews," which is a fair hint that features such as payments and certificates sit in Pro, though the pages captured here do not split features by plan.

Pro pricing appears in that alternatives article rather than on a pricing table. Its plan list gives a Business Plan at $75/year for 5 sites with 12 months of support and updates and lifetime usage, a Developer Plan at $250/year for unlimited sites, and an Agency Plan for unlimited sites plus all addons. The list prices that Agency Plan at $450/year. The same article's summary and comparison table say Pro "starts from $59/year," so the article gives two different entry figures; check the live pricing page before you buy.

Refunds are stated plainly. The homepage carries a "30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE," and the FAQ says "we will provide a refund within 30 days of purchase," asking you to contact the support team with a clear reason. The company recommends sending presale questions before buying Pro, and it offers a Pro admin demo and a Sandbox for Quiz Pro to try the paid features first.

Support and resources

The FAQ says "Our Support Specialists will get in touch with you within 24 hours." It routes urgent questions to the WP.org support forum, presale and Premium support to a contact form, and general requests to the company's email. Documentation, how-to articles and video tutorials back this up, with guides on exams with timers, sending results by email, personality tests, video quizzes, exam navigation, paid quizzes and translating the plugin. The site lists case studies for Speakhabla, G-Matrix, EnglishLeo and Aleph2Omega.

The testimonials on the homepage are short and named, including "It's almost one year i purchase and use quiz maker from Ays Pro. It's work very well for my website." from Wahyu Widhi and "Quick and friendly support. Best Quiz maker plugin for Wordpress I've found, with tons of nice features." from Eirik Sandal.

Who it suits

Quiz Maker by AYS Pro suits people who already run a WordPress site and want quizzes on their own pages: a blogger adding trivia or personality quizzes, a teacher running timed exams with certificates, a coach using a product recommendation quiz to route prospects, a course creator charging for an exam through PayPal or Stripe, or a marketer feeding quiz leads into Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign. Agencies get a plan aimed at many client sites.

It is a quiz plugin, not a learning management system. The pages describe quizzes, exams, certificates and reports, not course delivery, enrollment or learner paths, so a training team that needs those will pair it with something else. It also needs WordPress: anyone without a WordPress site has no way to use it.
