OnlineTestPlus AI

Tap a star to rate

OnlineTestPlus AI is online exam and assessment software made by Amrosoft Ltd, a company the About page places in the United Kingdom. It calls itself "The AI Assessment Operating System" and is aimed at schools, universities, recruiters, certification bodies, corporate L&D teams and regulated sectors, with healthcare, finance and government named on the home page as well. The product covers the whole sitting: a question bank, an exam builder that assembles papers, timed classroom exams and resumable take-home assignments, automatic marking for objective items, AI marking for essays against a scheme the teacher has locked, pass certificates, and item analysis afterwards. It sits in the Amro AI Education Suite next to Amro Academy, the company's learning product, and AmroMeet, which handles live classes, interviews, oral exams and demo bookings. The application itself runs at app.onlinetestplus.com.

Building the bank and the paper

Authors write items once in the question bank and reuse them across exams, mocks and recruitment screens. The FAQ names three item types: MCQ, single choice and descriptive questions. Items are organized by category, topic and difficulty, and an AI question generator helps draft them; the features page says it works from "course syllabuses, training manuals, and job specifications". An AI test design wizard drafts stems and structure for a whole test, which the teacher then reviews, edits and publishes into the bank.

The exam builder pulls items from the bank by topic, category and difficulty, applies blueprint rules for balanced papers, and reuses templates across mocks, live exams and hiring screens. Reviewers sign off a paper before schedulers publish it to a sitting, so content is not keyed in twice. Exams, tests and quizzes are scheduled with timed windows, time zones and cohorts. Allocation runs by program, then class, then learner, so a paper meant for one class is not offered to the whole school list. Remaining license seats show while staff add or invite learners, and adding, inviting or importing is blocked once the cap is reached. Calculator and formula sheet access are set per assessment.

Sitting the exam

The product separates two formats. One-sitting classroom exams run on timed rules and close only when the learner presses Submit: learners can skip a question and return while time remains, and pressing Next never submits the paper. When the timer ends, the timeout path runs, after which the learner can close the sitting or staff can force-submit one that is stuck. Assignments are the second format: resumable take-home or case-study work that learners can pause and pick up again. Both draw on the same question bank. Practice and mock papers use the same runner with no stakes and no integrity requirement, while high-stakes papers run under strict lockdown. Delivery can be remote or at a center.

On integrity, the site is specific about what is and is not included. Fullscreen lockdown and a reviewable integrity log come with the product. Camera and ID checks come from a proctoring partner, launched through a URL on the learner's start gate when the organization enables that add-on. The FAQ says the company does not ship Safe Exam Browser and does not build an AI camera into the runner, although "In-house live webcam is available as Live mode once LiveKit is configured." The home page describes behavioral flags that surface for human review.

Marking, certificates and analytics

Objective items are marked automatically. For descriptive questions, faculty set the prompt and the maximum marks, and AI drafts a scheme: named criteria with marks that add up to that maximum, a model answer, accepted variations and partial-credit rules. The teacher edits it, approves it and locks it. Every answer is then scored criterion by criterion against that scheme, with feedback, and the FAQ is blunt that "No locked scheme means no AI mark." Marking is suggest-only by default; an optional auto-finalize step applies only to high-confidence results when the scheme is locked and the assessment allows it. Asked whether two AI models double-mark, the FAQ answers "Not in this release": uncertain scripts stay with faculty, and a second-model check is on the roadmap.

After results are released, a learner who meets the pass mark can download a certificate PDF from the learner dashboard. The site describes it plainly as "a platform certificate, not an accredited diploma", recording the assessment and the score.

Item analysis shows facility, the mean percentage each question awarded, discrimination between the top and bottom 27% of attempts once ten sittings exist, and wrong options that attract a quarter or more of responses. It flags questions that are too easy, too hard or pulled off-key, and the FAQ describes it as built for faculty review, "not a full IRT scoring engine." The examination system page adds organization-level performance reporting, results reviewed by question and analyzed by topic, and export of outcomes into analytics and certification workflows.

Administration, email and security

Invitations and results go out from the organization's own mail through an SMTP or Resend connector set in the organization settings, rather than from a generic platform mailbox. The FAQ says Super Admin, Admin, Head of Department and Faculty users always complete multi-factor authentication, by email code or an authenticator app, and students and candidates can turn on the same options in their profiles. Staff logins are licensed separately from learner seats: teacher logins for institutes, Head of Department logins for companies. Scores and certificates can be sent back into Amro Academy learning paths. Demos are booked on AmroMeet, or through a Talk now button that issues an instant Google Meet link, and the contact address is info@onlinetestplus.com. The site also carries a Start free trial button, without stated trial terms.

Pricing

Prices are in pounds and built from three parts: a license year (or month), seats, and one shared OTP credit wallet for the whole organization. The year list price is 10 times the month list price, and institute prices are 70% of company prices. Writing papers costs nothing; credits are spent when a learner starts a sitting, and a retest counts as a new sitting. The tariff is 1 credit for a practice sitting, 2 for a formal test or an assessment, 3 for a case study, 10 for a proctored or LIVE sitting, 5 for an AI helper or marking call, and 1 per recipient for an announcement. At zero credits, new sittings, announcements and AI stop, but the year stays live and staff can keep authoring. The public page is a catalog and calculator only, with no buy button: a Super Admin issues the year, and organization and department admins buy credit packs in the app.

The institute packages are:

  • Starter, £343 a year (£34 a month on the cards): 50 students, at most 50 on the same paper, 2,400 credits, 2 teacher logins and 1 admin seat.
  • Standard, £1,043 a year (£104 a month): 200 students, 9,600 credits, 8 teacher logins and 2 admin seats.
  • Professional, £2,443 a year (£244 a month): 500 students, 30,000 credits, 20 teacher logins and 4 admin seats.
  • Enterprise, a custom quote, recommended only when more than 500 people must take the same paper together.

The same-paper limit matters: extra seats raise the account cap but not how many learners can sit one paper at once, so a larger group means splitting the paper or upgrading. Institute credit packs run from 100 credits for £10.50 and 500 for £45.50 up to 5,000 for £350, and extra sittings bought at the 100-credit rate come to £0.21 for a test or an assessment and £0.32 for a case study. Extra student seats are £8.40 per seat per year, a teacher login is £56 a year, and white-label (removing OnlineTestPlus branding) is £693 a year for institutes or £990 for companies. A custom domain and the proctoring partner are quoted with Enterprise.

Who it suits

OnlineTestPlus suits a school, institute, exam board or company that runs formal written exams and wants essay marking it can defend, because the teacher signs off every scheme before AI marks anything and the certificate is described honestly. The program-and-class allocation, cohort scheduling and item analysis fit a school or university assessment office, and the recruitment and certification use cases fit an HR team screening candidates or a body running credentialing exams. Small institutes can check a year's cost against the published Starter package before a demo. It is an assessment product rather than a course platform: the home page says it stops short of "turning the exam runner into an LMS", with teaching left to Amro Academy. Buyers who need built-in AI camera proctoring will find the camera handled by a partner add-on instead.
