What FeedbackFruits is
FeedbackFruits is a set of learning and assessment activities that instructors add to courses inside their institution's learning management system. Its help center is built around that model. The first category covers integrating FeedbackFruits with an LMS, where instructors "set up integrations, create assignments, add students and configure groups," and the related guides include adding a FeedbackFruits tool in Canvas and enabling grading for FeedbackFruits in an LMS. The product is for institutions and their instructors, the L&D and school readers of this directory, rather than for creators selling courses or learners choosing one.
The company sums up its focus as "Peer Feedback, Self-Reflection and Group Feedback," and nearly every tool the help center describes serves one of those three. A student hands in work, reviews classmates, judges their own work against criteria, rates the feedback received and reflects on it, all inside an activity the instructor has set up in the course.
The activity tools
The help center describes each part of the product as a tool built from steps. Instructions are a step in every tool, and a hand-in step is part of every assignment tool, so students submit their work inside the activity rather than through a separate upload.
- Peer Review. Students hand in work and then give reviews to classmates in a given-reviews step. Afterwards a reviewer rating feature and a Reflection step cover reading and acting on the feedback, and the help center has a guide on how students read and reflect on the reviews they received.
- Group Member Evaluation. The same given-reviews, reviewer rating and Reflection steps, applied to the members of a project group, so students assess one another's contribution to shared work.
- Self-assessment. It runs as a feature inside Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation, and as two dedicated tools: Self-Assessment of Work for a file hand-in, and Self Assessment of Skills for rubric and criteria evaluation.
- Instructor review. Teachers give their own reviews in the Assignment Review tool, for review activities that require a file submission, and in the Skill Review tools, for review activities that do not require files.
- Discussion. Discussion on Work is for discussion activities with a file submission, and Discussion on Topic is for activities with a text prompt.
- Quiz. A Quiz tool handles questions and answers. The help center says a single-question quiz is currently the closest match for a poll, and that the company aims to add an equivalent step as a "Pulse survey."
- Interactive Video. Video with "the possibility to create inline discussion and question threads," so students discuss and answer questions at the point in a video where they come up.
- Checklist. A checklist feature inside the Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation tools.
Group work is handled through collaboration feature options available in any tool. A dedicated grouping step is on the way: the help center says it is "Coming as a separate Group Formation step later this year," and that a tag-selection function is planned as part of that step.
Grading and the LMS connection
Scoring is a Configurable Grading step that the help center says is available "in any of our tools," and the same step handles grade passback, so marks from a peer review or a self-assessment reach the course gradebook rather than living in a separate system. A guide explains how to enable grading for FeedbackFruits in the LMS. The promoted articles add a getting-started guide for Push to LMS and a guide to Automated Enrollment into Spaces.
The wider platform
Beyond the single activities, the help center's platform category covers Spaces, Insights, Templates, Learning Journeys, Rubrics and Portfolios. Rubrics tie in with the criteria-based self-assessment described above. The promoted articles also introduce Design Studio and the Learning Design System (LDS), with a step-by-step guide to working in the LDS and an article on what the Learning Design System changes for users. Current and historic release notes have their own category, and an updates section carries "updates, migrations and deprecations."
Moving from Peergrade or Eduflow
The help center runs a transition track for institutions coming from Peergrade and Eduflow. "We have designed a special program to help you transition from Peergrade/Eduflow to FeedbackFruits," it says, and the company is "ready to step in, help with migrations and get your institution up and running quickly." A mapping table pairs each Eduflow activity with the FeedbackFruits tool that replaces it.
The same table is candid about what FeedbackFruits does not offer. It lists no FeedbackFruits equivalent for forms, certificates, SCORM, embeds, Zoom or HapYak, each marked "Not available." An invite-evaluator function is "Not available yet, but equivalent functionality planned as part of our Competency Based Assessment solution. Currently under development."
Support, languages and pricing
Support runs through a green chat button inside the product. The help center notes that "support is available 24h every weekday & unavailable on the weekend," and instructors can also submit a request through the help center. The company says its "dedicated support colleagues will be happy to advise you on how to best use our tools to achieve your learning goals," so the team covers advice on using the tools as well as technical issues. The help center has FAQs, how-to guides and troubleshooting help, plus a section of policies, transparency notes and regional information. It is published in English (United States) and Dutch (Nederlands).
The help center publishes no prices or plans.
Who it suits
FeedbackFruits suits instructors and teaching teams at institutions that already run their courses in an LMS such as Canvas and want students to give and receive structured feedback: peer review of submitted work, evaluation of group members, self-assessment against a rubric, discussion of one another's work, and questions and discussion inside a video. Because grades pass back to the LMS, it fits a course that already lives in the institution's system. Institutions moving off Peergrade or Eduflow get a dedicated transition program and an activity-by-activity map.
It is a weaker fit for a team that needs certificates, form building, SCORM packages or a Zoom connection, all of which the help center marks as not available. It is also not a way to sell or host a course: FeedbackFruits works inside the courses an institution already runs.
