What it is
Eklavvya is an online examination and assessment platform for universities, schools, training teams and employers, with AI proctoring, AI interviews and AI-assisted marking built in. Its FAQ calls it "an enterprise-grade AI-powered examination and assessment platform built for educational institutions and corporations", and says universities use it for entrance exams, semester assessments and PhD evaluations while enterprises deploy it for recruitment screening, employee assessments and certification programs. The site footer credits Splashgain Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd and lists an office address in Maharashtra, India, plus a US contact line.
The home page puts the platform's volume at 500+ clients worldwide, 50M+ assessments completed and 78+ exam types. The FAQ's scale figures are 500K+ students for Mumbai Univ, 15K+ AI interviews for NMIMS and 100K+ exam nodes pan-India. This is a tool for the L&D, HR or examination team running tests at volume, not a course builder: there is no course authoring or selling here, only the assessment side.
Exam types for education
The education menu covers academic assessment, school exams, entrance exam management, center-based assessment, practical exams, an onscreen marking system, question paper generation and delivery, remote exam invigilation, university examination management, descriptive tests, voice assessment, school olympiad tests and career path assessment. The home page groups the main workflows into six:
- Academic exams: objective, descriptive and mixed-format tests for schools, colleges and universities.
- Entrance exams: admission tests at scale with AI proctoring, slot-based scheduling and instant results.
- End semester exams: exam management from question banks through to AI-assisted answer sheet checking.
- Programming tests: auto-graded coding assessments with an in-browser compiler and plagiarism checks.
- Center-based assessment: computer-based tests across exam centers with lockdown browsers and live monitoring.
- Viva and oral exams: an AI viva voce that asks questions, listens and evaluates spoken answers.
For admissions, the FAQ describes an AI Admission Interview product that it says shortens admissions from a 6-8 week process to 2-3 weeks, evaluates 500+ candidates weekly against 50 with traditional panels, and runs interviews around the clock in 30+ languages including regional Indian languages. It says NMIMS conducted 15,000+ AI interviews in 4 weeks this way, and that institutions can hand off from AI to human panels for final rounds. A testimonial from NMIMS on the same page gives the figure as 13,000+ interviews across multiple panels. For placement cells there is an AI mock interview tool with unlimited practice interviews and feedback on communication, confidence and technical skills; the FAQ claims 40% higher placement success, which is the company's own figure.
Assessment for employers and training teams
The corporate side covers employee skill assessments, video interviews, aptitude tests for recruitment, voice assessment, psychometric tests, center-based assessment and coding assessment. The home page lists AI proctored tests with face, audio and screen monitoring, asynchronous AI video interviews scored for communication, confidence and role fit, voice assessments for fluency, pronunciation and clarity in customer-facing roles, coding challenges with automatic evaluation, generative AI assessments where descriptive answers are graded against a rubric, and case study assessments of analysis and judgment.
The FAQ says the coding tests cover 10+ languages, naming C, Java, Python and SQL; a corporate blog post lists C, C++, Java, C#, Python, Go, JavaScript and Kotlin plus SQL tests. The same post adds performance evaluation tests, new skill acquisition tests, hiring tests, surveys and polls for feedback from employees, vendors and event attendees, and recorded audio interviews where candidates speak their answers and an evaluator listens later. For training and certification, the FAQ names compliance testing with AI proctoring, skill assessments for internal mobility and promotions, and certification programs with automated scoring and credentialing. It names EY, Zerodha, Tata Group, Jubilant FoodWorks and Grant Thornton as clients.
Skill-based scoring
The feature the home page puts forward is skill-based assessment: "Measure the skill, not just the score." Every question declares the skills it measures and their weightage, and results are reported per skill rather than as one total. Questions come from a reusable, skill-tagged bank with AI-assisted authoring. A question can be a case study, video, audio clip or image, and candidates can answer by text, audio, video or a multi-turn AI voice conversation.
Rubrics can be mapped to CEFR, NSQF or the organization's own framework. Under the heading "AI scores, humans verify", the page says low-confidence answers go to a human reviewer with a full audit trail. The communication evaluation scores five skills on a 0 to 100 scale (fluency, grammar, pronunciation, and coherence and vocabulary are named), covers spoken English, viva and written answers, and the page says results and feedback arrive minutes after submission.
Question papers and marking
The AI Question Paper Generator takes an uploaded syllabus and generates questions mapped to its topics, tags them by Bloom's taxonomy level, and generates papers in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and 30+ languages. Setters, validators and moderators get role-based access, and papers are delivered over an OTP-protected workflow.
Marking works in two modes. For typed descriptive answers, the AI grades against model answers, supports diagrams, file uploads and speech-to-text responses, and writes feedback in multiple languages. For handwritten answer sheets, the onscreen marking system (OSM) uses OCR to convert handwriting to text, and the FAQ says the AI grades 75-80% of sheets after learning from faculty-evaluated samples. Faculty approve or override the AI's scores with one click, and strictness can be set to Easy, Moderate or Strict. The FAQ reports figures from institutions using OSM: 80% cost reduction, 82% faster results, 200+ faculty hours saved and results in 8 days against 45 days with paper processing. It cites published case studies from Dev Bhoomi University and NMIMS, and the home page links further case studies from Sharda University and Pune University.
Proctoring and exam security
The proctoring menu lists AI proctoring, remote proctoring, 360° remote proctoring and a proctoring API. The FAQ describes face recognition against registered photos, detection of multiple faces and unauthorized persons, detection of phones, tablets, smartwatches and earbuds in the frame, a browser lockdown that blocks tab switching, copy-paste and other applications, and detection of ChatGPT or other LLM use through typing patterns. Sessions are recorded and flagged incidents are timestamped for review.
The company's own blog post on proctoring adds human proctoring, combined AI and human proctoring, broadcast messages to all candidates, two-way chat between proctor and candidate, and screen monitoring. It says no Chrome or browser plugin is needed to sit a proctored exam, and that proctoring can be added to an existing exam system through low-code APIs. Center-based testing uses encrypted question paper delivery.
On security, the FAQ lists CERT-IN certification, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for information security management, encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control with audit trails, and "GDPR-compliant data handling for international institutions". It claims a 99.9% uptime SLA and cloud infrastructure that scales for concurrent exam loads, with slot-based scheduling and multi-shift exams.
Integrations
The FAQ lists REST APIs for connecting an ERP or LMS, single sign-on, the low-code proctoring API, bulk data import and export, automated result publishing and webhook notifications, and says the technical team provides integration support at no additional cost. The home page's integration strip names Zapier, Make.com, n8n, REST API and MCP servers. The site menus also carry a Moodle proctoring page.
Implementation and support
The FAQ gives timelines by use case: 1-2 weeks for standard online exams including training and a pilot, 3 days for the AI interview platform, and 4-6 weeks for full university exam management including question bank migration, OSM setup and integration. A dedicated implementation manager is assigned, and the company provides administrator training, user documentation and 24/7 technical support during exam windows. The platform is fully cloud-based, so no on-premises infrastructure is needed. Help sections cover candidates, institutes, proctors, coding tests and onscreen evaluation, and an exam support helpline is listed by phone and email.
Pricing
Eklavvya offers three pricing models: per-candidate pricing, paying only for actual exam attempts, which the FAQ suggests for entrance exams; an annual subscription with unlimited exams for a fixed fee, suggested for universities; and an enterprise license with custom pricing and SLA guarantees for large deployments. All plans include AI proctoring, question bank management and analytics. The site publishes no figures for any plan. The FAQ says the company offers pilot programs and free trials so institutions can evaluate the platform first, and the proctoring post mentions a demo and free subscription before purchase.
What customers say
Testimonials on the home page come from named staff at Zerodha Broking Ltd., Prism Johnson Ltd., Currency Cycle Association, Syngenta, Suzlon Global Services Limited, Datta Meghe Institute and J N Tata Endowment For The Higher Education Of Indians. Lindo Paul, AVP Business at Zerodha, writes: "Hiring and the employee evaluation process are so much more streamlined due to Eklavvya." Mehreen Raza of Currency Cycle Association says the team wanted to streamline certification assessments for cash management employees across India and that "Eklavvya proved to be an effective tool to manage secure online tests." Abhijeet Dasgupta of Syngenta says the tool is used to "evaluate and assess different stakeholders (both internal and external) in Syngenta."
Who it suits
Eklavvya fits examination controllers at universities and colleges who need entrance tests, semester exams, onscreen marking of handwritten scripts and question paper generation in one place, and HR or L&D teams that screen candidates with coding tests, AI interviews and voice assessments. Its pricing models, implementation timelines and integration list are aimed at institutions running exams at volume. A teacher wanting a quick classroom quiz tool is not the reader it is built for.
