What it is

DigiProctor is an online proctoring and digital examination platform for academic and corporate institutions. The home page calls it "a comprehensive online proctoring solution from CISO Cybersecurity (a venture of The Statesman Group)", and the footer gives the company as CISO Cybersecurity Pvt. Ltd., at Statesman House on Barakhamba Road in New Delhi. The reader it serves is an exam controller at a university, a school or a professional council, or an HR and training team running hiring and skill tests, that needs exams taken remotely without losing control of the session.

The service menu shows how wide the offer is: remote proctoring software, digital transformation of exams, hiring assessments, employee skill assessments, online scholarship tests, admissions tests, proctoring as a service and AI-assisted subjective evaluation. The home page describes the whole as "a comprehensive multi-module digital examination solution" meant to move an organization from paper-based manual workflows to digital ones, and says it integrates with an existing learning management system, naming Moodle, Blackboard "or any bespoke LMS application." The platform runs on desktop, tablet and mobile.

Deep proctoring and the lockdown browser

The proctoring rests on three parts that the company presents together. The first is what it calls deep proctoring. Besides watching the camera and microphone feeds, the proctoring page says DigiProctor detects and stops hidden devices, services and tools running inside the test-taker's operating system, and lists virtual cameras, unauthorized browsers and applications, instant messaging, screen sharing, remote access, virtual machines, KVM switches, and ports such as HDMI and USB. The page gives one example of what this catches: a virtual camera that plays a pre-recorded video of the candidate sitting the exam.

The second part is a "free inbuilt Next-Generation Lockdown Browser." Like any lockdown browser it keeps the candidate in the test window, stops them minimizing it, disables the copy-paste and printing keys and blocks other applications. What the page stresses is that it can also be configured to open controlled access. Where an exam needs an application on the candidate's computer, such as Excel or SPSS for a data analysis question, the browser lets them leave the test window but keeps them off the internet, and everything they do is screen recorded for the proctor. Where an exam needs a permitted website for a case study, the browser lets them reach only that site and returns them to the test window afterwards.

The third part is QD3, short for Question Design, Delivery and Display. Design means questions such as case studies and situational analysis that test higher-order learning. Delivery means a unique paper for every candidate: the sequence of questions and options is randomized, a paper is picked at random from a set, or a paper is built for each candidate from a question bank. Display means the setter can give each question a maximum answering time, after which it is auto-submitted whether answered or not, and can show one question at a time with no way back to an earlier one. The company's claim is that deep proctoring plus the lockdown browser plus QD3 adds up to what it calls "Perfect Exam Integrity"; that is its own wording.

Identity checks and live monitoring

The home page lists AI-powered facial recognition that analyzes candidates' gestures and expressions, voice alerts that detect audio anomalies and interference, and system-violation monitoring that blocks the internet and unauthorized applications on the device. The menu names AI-augmented live proctoring and digital identity verification as top features. The scholarship exams page says institutions can choose between automated AI monitoring and human-assisted live proctoring for high-stakes exams, with facial recognition, browser lockdown and anomaly detection aimed at impersonation, screen sharing and unauthorized materials.

Building and running assessments

The home page lists question formats including multiple-choice, true/false, short answer, essay and simulation-based questions, with weighted scoring and criteria-based evaluation. The scholarship page adds coding and case-based questions, and lets the institution set time limits, difficulty levels and evaluation rubrics. A question bank with detailed classification lets teachers build personalized papers so that each student gets a unique set of questions. For academic customers the home page describes semester assessments handled end to end, from automated question paper creation out of question banks to result declaration, continuous assessments with a 3-step launch, and a digitized admission process covering applications, fee collection, admit cards, document collection, online tests and interviews.

The scholarship workflow runs from institution sign-up and exam configuration (assessment parameters, question types, proctoring rules) through applicant registration with identity verification, the proctored exam itself, and automated grading with reports. That page says the cloud-based platform can handle "hundreds or thousands of simultaneous candidates without downtime" and mentions multilingual and accessibility support.

AI grading of descriptive answers

The AI-assisted subjective evaluation page says the system grades descriptive answers for content relevance, logical structure and completeness, using "over 20+ tunable parameters aligned to institutional rubrics." The parameters it names include conceptual understanding, language proficiency, presentation, conciseness and keyword density, with custom weight mapping. It supports typed and handwritten responses, and the page says faculty review only edge cases or low-confidence responses. Post-assessment reports break performance down per candidate, flag common errors and learning gaps, and show batch and department trends. The page claims a 70% reduction in human effort, a 3X consistency gain and cost savings of more than 60%; these are the company's own figures, with no study named behind them. It also describes the grading as encrypted with a full audit trail.

Analytics and item analysis

Reporting covers a breakdown of learning abilities based on Bloom's Taxonomy, comparisons across everyone who took the same test, progress across earlier assessments, question tagging to find learning gaps, time spent on each question or section, and anomaly detection on unusual score patterns. The effective assessments page explains the item analysis in detail: DigiProctor turns it into "a one-button-press activity", reporting question difficulty as a P-value from 0 to +1, question anomaly as a point-biserial correlation from -1 to +1, and guessability as a frequency. For corporate users the home page adds certification management that tracks employee certifications and renewals.

Learning management

A built-in LMS sits alongside the exams. The scholarship page says institutions can share study material, practice papers and mock tests before an exam, upload tutorials and assignments, and track each applicant's progress and readiness from one dashboard. The home page describes tools for creating, managing and delivering courses and training materials.

Security, compliance and recognition

The home page lists ISO/IEC 27001 certification for its information security management system, ISO/IEC 27701 certification for privacy information management, security certification from a CERT-In empaneled assessor, and CMMI-3 certification. It says the platform supports adherence to GDPR and CCPA, with tools to track compliance. These are the company's statements. Its listed awards include Best EdTech Startup in 2017 and 2018 from Amity University, a Best Technology Startup award in 2018 from the Ministry of Skill Development, a Dynamic CISO award in 2017 and a SKOCH Achievers award in 2019.

Customers and testimonials

Under "Trusted by leaders & visionaries" the home page lists academic names such as several Indian Institutes of Management, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, Manipal University, SRM University AP, the Aga Khan University and the Nursing Council of Kenya, and corporate names such as GE HealthCare, Tata Steel, Fidelity International and Sotheby's. Ibrahim W. Boru of the Clinical Officers Council says "Our exam conducted in September 2022 for more than 2000 candidates with 100% strike rate vouches the reliability of platform." Dr Prakash Jadhav of SRM University AP says the tool "helped us to do 12000+ tests in less than 4 days with highest level of security." Eva Wanjiku of the Nursing Council of Kenya says the platform "has increased the productivity by 300%".

Support and pricing

The technical support page gives helplines and support mailboxes for India and Kenya, with the India helpline listed at "10 lines", and says candidates outside India can reach customer care over WhatsApp. The scholarship page lists 24/7 support. No prices appear on the site; each page leads to a demo booking.

Who it suits

DigiProctor fits universities, schools, entrance and scholarship programs, licensing councils and companies running hiring or skill tests at volume, especially where exams need applications such as spreadsheets or statistics packages, or permitted websites, while still being locked down. Institutions grading large numbers of essay answers have the AI subjective evaluation to look at, and those on Moodle or Blackboard can connect it to their LMS. It is built for formal, proctored assessment rather than for a course creator selling quizzes alongside a course.
