Edukati

Tap a star to rate

Edukati is a hosted learning management system built on Moodle, offered to schools, universities and companies in Indonesia. The site is in Indonesian, prices are in rupiah, and the help page gives an office address at the Metro Trade Center in Bandung. The FAQ says Edukati is built on Moodle "yang telah dimodifikasi agar lebih mudah digunakan, stabil, dan cepat" (modified to be easier to use, stable and fast) for educational institutions and companies. The home page says the cloud platform runs the latest Moodle version (5.1), calls Edukati "Platform LMS #1 di Indonesia" (the number one LMS platform in Indonesia), and puts its numbers at 500+ institutions, 12,000+ active students and 99.9% uptime.

Getting started

The pitch is speed. The home page promises a professional Moodle LMS built without coding, created "hanya dalam hitungan menit" (in just minutes) without complicated configuration, and free to start with no credit card required. Visitors can start a free trial or book a demo. The FAQ describes the process: sign up through the pricing page, choose a plan, and the team sets up the LMS site automatically within minutes. Edukati runs the Moodle site in its own cloud, so a school gets a working e-learning site without setting up a server, and the home page describes an interface that can be adjusted to the institution's needs.

Building and delivering courses

The features page groups Edukati's functions into six areas. Course creation starts with course management, which organizes learning into categories and topic or weekly classes and now has AI support; the home page calls this an AI Content Assistant for producing material faster. A content bank stores interactive assets such as H5P and multimedia for reuse across courses, and resource management handles PDF, video and Office files. Interactive activities include Lesson activities and SCORM packages, collaborative tools cover group discussion, wikis and an automatic glossary, and an external integration connects to virtual labs or outside digital libraries through the LTI standard. An activity chooser helps teachers pick a tool by learning goal.

Assessment and grading

Assessment gets the longest list on the features page. The Quiz Engine now includes AI Quiz Generation to create questions automatically. The question bank supports versions, categories and randomization. Assignment management accepts digital submissions with direct PDF annotation and revisions. The gradebook calculates grades automatically with customizable categories and formulas, evaluation tools add rubrics and scoring guides, feedback can be given as text or audio, and blind marking keeps grading objective. Item analysis measures the quality, validity and difficulty of each question.

Exam security relies on Safe Exam Browser (SEB) integration, which locks the browser during an exam to prevent cheating. The FAQ confirms automatic exams, question randomization and instant grading, and says certificates are issued automatically once a participant completes a course and meets the pass criteria. The features page adds digital badges alongside certificates as recognition of achievement.

Administration, tracking and branding

Administrators get bulk account actions and site-level cohorts, enrollment methods from self-enrollment to automated enrollment, multi-factor authentication and single sign-on with Google or Microsoft accounts, role-based access control with central control over AI use, and automated background tasks such as email, backups and periodic cleanup. A plugin directory opens thousands of add-ons from the global community, although plugin installs depend on the plan. Progress tracking uses activity completion, a custom report builder produces learning statistics without coding, and predictive analytics flag students at risk of falling behind or failing. Navigation adds a course index drawer and global search, and teachers see which work still needs grading.

Branding covers logo, colors and theme, personal dashboards with progress charts and a task timeline, dark mode, bookmarks for favorite material, mobile apps with offline sync, and internal messages, site announcements and push notifications. The FAQ says Edukati can be fully customized with an institution's logo, colors and domain, and offers custom domains. The pricing table is more specific: the free and shared plans run on an Edukati subdomain, Dedicated CBT takes a subdomain or a custom domain, and full white-labeling with a custom domain comes with the Dedicated plan.

The compliance list covers management of users' personal data rights in line with GDPR, a competency framework for mapping curriculum and tasks to national competency standards, conditional access for adaptive learning paths, complete audit logs, WCAG 2.1 accessibility, support for the IMS, SCORM and LTI content standards, and a course-level recycle bin with routine automatic backups.

Plans and prices

The pricing page lists six plans and lets a buyer pick a contract length, with savings of up to 10% for 3 months, up to 25% for 6 months and up to 50% for 12 months (the home page's copy of the same table says up to 60%). The Trial / Free plan costs Rp 0 a month, and the page says the free package is valid for 12 months. It allows 75 users and 2 GB, with a limited manager role, no plugin installs, the Edukati logo, a shared server, no SLA, an Edukati subdomain, self-paced training through an online course, backups and migration done by the user, and ticket support in working hours.

Plus, Pro and Ultra each show a normal monthly price and a lower monthly price with an annual commitment, which the page labels a 64% saving. Plus is Rp 450,000 a month normally, or Rp 162,000 a month on an annual commitment, for 400 users and 10 GB with administrator access, school branding and no plugin installs. Pro is Rp 1,000,000, or Rp 360,000, for 750 users and 25 GB, and allows plugin installs on request; the page says it supports syncing interactive learning content so teachers need not build material from scratch. Ultra is Rp 2,000,000, or Rp 720,000, for 1,500 users and 50 GB, and is pitched at heavy daily traffic on the content and question bank of Edukati Interaktif. These three share a server with a 98% standard SLA, leave backups and migration to the customer, include scheduled online training and ticket support in working hours, and on Pro and Ultra a Moodle version upgrade is a paid add-on.

Two plans run on their own servers. Dedicated CBT, which the page recommends for schools, gives school exams dedicated server resources so computer-based tests run "tanpa hambatan teknis (anti-lag)" (without technical hiccups). Its normal price is Rp 2,000,000 a month, or Rp 1,530,000 a month with an annual commitment (a 24% saving), for 2,000 users and 100 GB, with plugin installs on request, a subdomain or custom domain, a 99% premium SLA, daily automatic and on-demand backups, migration on demand, free version upgrades, scheduled training with a quota and priority 24/7 support.

Dedicated, which the page recommends for companies, is a private cloud plan built for companies, networks of international and integrated Islamic schools, and other large institutions. It is sized by concurrent users, with options from 100 to 10,000, and includes 200 GB, AI-powered features, unrestricted plugin installs plus custom development, full white-labeling, a custom domain, a dedicated corporate server, daily and on-demand backups, free version upgrades, a 99.9% formal enterprise SLA with a dedicated account manager and contract, and priority 24/7 support.

Add-ons and the content product

The SEB Edukati plugin connects exams to the Safe Exam Browser app: students scan a QR code generated by the teacher instead of typing the exam URL, only teachers can regenerate the code, and students cannot make their own, which the page says reduces the risk of cheating. It costs Rp 500,000 (down from Rp 750,000) as a lifetime purchase and is listed for three older plans, Merdeka 1, Merdeka 2 and Starter. A version upgrade service, Rp 500,000 (down from Rp 700,000) per 365 days and available on every plan, moves a site to the latest stable Moodle, checks plugin and theme compatibility and includes technical help, with about 2 days of downtime; the customer confirms the schedule with support over WhatsApp after checkout. Older Dedicated CBT plans can add 500 users for two exam events at Rp 2,000,000 (down from Rp 2,500,000) per 12 months.

Edukati also offers Edukati Interaktif, which the home page introduces as its own content product: interactive SCORM lessons for school students, made with AI help and arranged in a catalog by school subject.

What customers say

Testimonials on the home page come from Indonesian schools and a university. Jonathan Hiwer, principal of SMKN 23 Negeri Bandung, says everything sits in one place in real time and preparation time fell by up to 50%. Siti Rahayu, academic coordinator at SMA Negeri 5 Jakarta, praises a complete dashboard that teachers and parents both understand. Budi Santoso, IT administrator at Universitas Brawijaya, says the rollout on campus went smoothly and the support team was very responsive, and Dewi Lestari, a senior teacher at SMK Telkom Purwokerto, says there is no longer any need to switch between apps.

Who it suits

Edukati suits Indonesian schools that want Moodle's assessment tools without setting up a server, especially for computer-based exams, and companies that want a branded LMS for internal training and employee onboarding, which the FAQ names directly. The free package lets a teacher start with a small class, the shared plans go up to 1,500 users, and the two dedicated plans cover exam days and large institutions. The trade-offs show on the pricing page: the shared plans leave backups and migration to the customer, a Moodle version upgrade is a paid add-on there, the table shows a custom domain only on the two dedicated plans, and the site is written in Indonesian.
