myCourseVille
Tap a star to rate
myCourseVille is the learning platform of Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Its footer states that the "LMS and Online Course Platform within mycourseville.com are operated by Learning Innovation Center, Chulalongkorn University", and the site's own tagline calls it a "Digital Platform for Life-long Learning". The platform does two jobs. It is the university's learning management system, with enrollment tied to a Chula login, and it is the public front door to Chulalongkorn's free online courses for students and the general public. Most of what a visitor sees on the course market page is in Thai, with some courses taught in English and a full series that teaches Thai to speakers of other languages.
What a learner finds
Three course programs under one account
The market page explains that one user account opens courses from several programs:
- Chula MOOC (จุฬา·มุก). "ลงทะเบียนเรียนฟรี มากกว่า 10 คอร์สต่อเดือน": free registration, with more than 10 courses a month, covering languages, technology, management, arts and self-development, and health, and described as suitable for everyone.
- Chula MOOC Snap. Free courses filmed from lectures on current topics such as generative AI and innovation in teaching, with downloadable "Visual Notes" that summarize every course.
- Chula Neuron. An online knowledge library run by Chulalongkorn's General Education Center, offering free courses from the university and other organizations to support learning for the general public, including a head start on university-level content.
For all three, the page states that a learner receives a certificate on completing each course ("รับใบรับรองเมื่อเรียนสำเร็จแต่ละคอร์ส"). A banner in English sums it up: "Free! Self-pacing online courses with certificates".
Digital and AI skills, with university credit
The top of the market page is aimed at digital and AI skills "สำหรับนิสิต นักศึกษา และ ประชาชนทั่วไป พร้อมสะสมหน่วยกิตศึกษาทั่วไปจากจุฬาฯ": for university students and the general public, with the chance to accumulate general education credits from Chulalongkorn by choosing courses from the Flexi group. That is the clearest route on the platform from an open online course to university credit. A second feature, "Generative AI ใน 1 ชั่วโมง" (generative AI in one hour), introduces the Chula MOOC Snap AI Series: short courses built from recorded lectures by experts on how generative AI is being used in different fields.
The course calendar
Chula MOOC runs in dated rounds, and many courses are repeat cohorts, numbered in their titles (รุ่นที่, the cohort number). The June to July 2026 round includes an English communication course, the Kanji Cool Kit for Japanese characters, Computational Thinking and My First Code, an analytic geometry and vectors course in the "เก่งคณิต" math series, introductions to biology and geography, a course on managing plastic waste, creative tourism development, Law for Business covering business law and tax, respiratory health and exercise from the Faculty of Sports Science, self-care for healthy aging from the CHULA Ari team, and a course on why social security matters. Several of these have run many times: the Kanji Cool Kit is in its ninth cohort and Law for Business in its tenth.
The May to June 2026 round adds Japanese Snap!, an English conversation course now in its thirteenth cohort, using the AI tools in Canva, Attacking the Real World with Python, basic law for business, Environment 4.0, skin and sun exposure, healthy eating, eye care knowledge for medical staff, a survey of classical music from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, algebra and linear algebra, an introduction to economics, public sector budgeting and promoting self-directed learning. Most instructors are Chulalongkorn faculty, listed with their academic titles.
Permanent courses
A separate list of permanent courses stays open outside the calendar. It includes artificial intelligence for self-development and lifelong learning, Photonics Introduction 1 and 2, Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid for Medical Emergency, basic trauma surgery procedures for general practitioners, pharmaceutical techniques from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, supporting diverse learners in today's classroom, a children's course on marine pollution, Phra Nakhon studies (พระนครศึกษา), and a course on the Mahachat from the university's Buddhist studies center.
Thai for foreigners
The platform's clearest offer to international learners is "Communicative Thai for Foreigners", produced with the Thailand Foundation in eight versions: Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, French, Spanish, German, Russian and Japanese. Two more permanent courses help newcomers: Survival Thai from the university's Office of International Affairs and Global Network, and Thai on Campus from the Centre for Thai as a Foreign Language in the Faculty of Arts.
How enrollment works
Each course card carries one of several enrollment states: "Free enroll", "Enroll (Code needed)", "Enroll (Chula Login)", "Course Full", "Enrollment Closed" and "Enrollment Not Started". Free enrollment is open to anyone with an account. A code or a Chula login restricts a course to a particular group, which is how the same platform serves both the public and the university's own students.
Signing in offers four routes: an account login, a platform login, Google and Facebook. The home page warns that "Unless linked, different options result in separate user accounts", so a learner should stick to one sign-in method or link them. Necessary cookies keep a learner logged in, and analytics cookies are optional.
The LMS side
For Chulalongkorn's own teaching, myCourseVille is the institution's learning management system. The "Chula Login" and "Code needed" enrollment options are how courses are limited to enrolled students or a specific group, and the Flexi courses connect online study to general education credit at the university. The public pages show the learner side of that system rather than its teaching tools.
Cost
Chula MOOC registration is free, MOOC Snap courses are free, and Chula Neuron offers free courses. The market page shows no paid courses.
Who it suits
myCourseVille suits Thai-speaking learners who want free, self-paced courses from Chulalongkorn University faculty with a certificate at the end, across a wide range: languages, math, programming, law, health, environment and the arts. University students can use the Flexi courses to earn general education credit, and professionals will find practical options such as AI tools for work, business law and public budgeting. Medical staff have specialist courses on eye care, first aid and trauma procedures.
Non-Thai speakers have a narrower but useful offer: the Communicative Thai series in eight languages, Survival Thai and Thai on Campus, plus a handful of English-taught courses. Most of the catalog is taught in Thai, so learners who do not read Thai will find little else they can follow.
