What Voxy is

Voxy is a language training platform for companies. It combines a self-study library of business-focused lessons with live group classes and private tutoring led by certified teachers, and it sells programs to employers rather than to individual learners. The About page says Voxy was founded in New York City in 2010 and that in 2017 it shifted its focus to serving corporate clients exclusively, with a work-skills based approach. It is now a fully remote company with team members across 10 countries.

English is the core, but not the only language. In 2022 Voxy acquired The Language Co., which the About page says strengthened its presence in Latin America, and in 2023 it acquired the Italian company Fluentify, adding Spanish, Italian, French and German to its corporate programs. The programs pages now speak of "skills-based programs in up to 18 languages." The homepage counts 5M learners in 150 countries, and the About page cites 100+ industry-focused courses and 24/7 live instruction.

The three parts of the platform

The Voxy Platform page splits the product into three parts that a company can combine.

The Voxy Learning Experience Platform (LXP) is the self-study side. The page says it uses AI to tailor learning to each individual, adapting to the learner's progress and delivering self-study activities in listening, speaking and writing that can be used 24/7. Each learner gets a customized program that evolves with their needs and goals, "ensuring that consistent practice leads to excellence." The programs page describes the self-paced tracks as on-demand modules on desktop and mobile, with over 80 courses covering job-specific needs such as project management, sales and customer support, and AI that recommends lessons to fit the learner's profile.

Group live classes are online classes led by certified language experts, where learners hold conversations with peers from around the world and hear a range of accents. The platform page says Voxy's teachers have thousands of hours of experience and specialize in corporate learners. Classes run from 15 to 60 minutes, are available 24/7 in all time zones, and are easy to schedule and reschedule. They are skills-based, built on real business content, with conversation practice and role play using business vocabulary. The Iteris case study adds that group classes put learners alongside others at the same proficiency level.

Private live tutoring gives 1:1 instruction from certified language teachers. The platform page names preparing for presentations, drafting documents and handling international calls as typical goals. This is the tutoring side of the product, delivered inside a company program rather than booked by an individual.

Content and courses

The library is built from published media rather than scripted dialogues. Voxy says its curriculum uses authentic content from publishers including Bloomberg, The Economist, the Associated Press and the Financial Times, turned into lessons by what it calls patented technology and added daily. The platform page counts over 20,000 pieces of content, in formats from news articles to videos of everyday interactions, meeting recordings and interviews.

The course catalog is wide. Career courses cover finance (financial services, investment banking, statistics for data science), retail, software engineering, project management, oil and gas, tourism and hospitality, food and beverage, aviation (pilots, cabin crew, aircraft maintenance technicians, passenger services), healthcare, including courses for certified nursing assistants, maritime, manufacturing, customer service and IT helpdesk, digital marketing, human resources, warehousing, automotive and sales. Soft skills courses include cross-cultural training, productivity and time management, executive leadership, remote work, and diversity, inclusion and social justice. General English runs from Beginner Literacy through Advanced, alongside a U.S. Citizenship course and English for Personal Financial Literacy. Academic courses prepare learners for IELTS, TOEFL and PTE Academic and for undergraduate and postgraduate study, with versions for MBA students and engineers. A teacher training course covers TEFL pedagogy. If an industry is missing, the courses page offers to create new courses for it.

Assessment, administration and support

The Voxy Proficiency Assessment (VPA) is an on-demand online test that maps language skills and benchmarks progress, which employees can take at any time from home or the office. The platform page says it is aligned with the CEFR and GSE and gives predicted results for TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC and PTE.

For the training team, the programs page lays out a four-step process: a needs assessment, Voxy Skills Mapping by role with a proficiency assessment, implementation and launch with engagement strategies, and tracking results and ROI. Administration runs through the Voxy Command Center, which offers a dashboard of learner progress, customizable reports, license management for learner accounts, and engagement and proficiency reports. A customer success team supports onboarding, implementation, learner support and engagement. The platform page also promises "Effortless integration with your LMS."

Two services go further. Voxy Learning Coaches are a premium service for executives and leaders, with a detailed needs assessment, career-aligned content, a personalized study plan and unlimited private classes. Customized lessons and workshops turn a company's own material into language lessons; the homepage's example is a new salesperson learning English from real sales calls.

Results and pricing

The site publishes no prices; programs start with a demo request and a conversation with a specialist. The homepage reports a 94.6% satisfaction rate for classes and claims teams can upskill "3x faster than traditional methods." Its case studies give client results. Iteris, which the case study describes as a Brazilian IT services company, reports 57% of students with increased productivity, 60% with improved VPA scores, 86% still active and a 209% ROI. The Ceibal case says 96% of students improved or maintained their proficiency and 94% stayed consistently active, completing over 490 lessons on average in 12 months. Maxion Wheels reports 71% of employees with productivity gains, and Grundfos 87% with improved proficiency. Among the client quotes, Monica Chiusi, an Organizational Development Specialist, writes that "The program results exceeded our expectations" and that employees "adapted quickly to the new training environment."

Who it suits

Voxy suits companies that need employees to work in English or another business language: global teams, firms entering new markets, frontline staff, sales and customer service groups, and executives preparing for international roles. The mix of 24/7 short classes and self-study fits staff on shifts or across time zones, and the industry courses suit sectors from aviation to healthcare. The site groups its use cases under upskilling, global expansion, internal mobility, compliance training and academic and test prep. An individual learner looking for a personal subscription is not the audience: the About page says Voxy has served corporate clients exclusively since 2017. The site is available in English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
