What Virtual Cyber Labs is

Virtual Cyber Labs (VCL), also branded VCL Academy, is a cybersecurity training company based in New Delhi and run by Cerohub Pvt. Ltd. It sells self-paced video courses and live certificate programs to students and career changers in India, and it works with schools, colleges and employers. The About page calls it an "Industry-leader in cybersecurity trainings", and its mission is "Turning students in Cyber Warriors across India." The home page headline reads "Cybersecurity trainings taken by the top 1%", and it promotes a cybersecurity career transition track and free webinars for newcomers.

The home page lists the milestones VCL says it reached "in just 3 years of launch": 12,000+ trained students, a 98.8% satisfaction rate, government accreditation and a 20K+ student community. The About page adds that VCL is "operational in 10+ universities across India" and says it is "closely working with AICTE, Gov of India in making cybersecurity an integral part of curriculum of different universities and colleges across India."

Self-paced courses

The course archive shows 15 courses in four groups: Free Courses, Blue Teaming, Crime Analysis Battleground and Web Applications. Each listing shows a level, a lesson count, hours and an enrolled-student count. Seven courses are free:

  • IBM QRadar Security Analyst, ₹4,499 (from ₹7,499), 460 students

The topics lean toward defense and investigation. Blue Teaming covers honeypots, IDS setup, incident response, MITRE ATT&CK and the QRadar SIEM. Crime Analysis Battleground covers dark web investigation, digital forensics, network traffic analysis and financial crime detection, whose description refers to law enforcement agencies such as Interpol and the CBI. Web Applications covers session management and rate-limit bugs. The C programming course, taught "from a Cybersecurity Perspective", gives beginners a coding foundation for security work.

Live certificate programs

Above the single courses sit longer programs: Cybersecurity Foundations Professional (CCFP), Nano Degrees, the Certified Cyber Criminologist and the Certified Enterprise Security Officer (CESO).

CESO is the bestseller, presented as an "Advanced Blue Teaming course" for students "aiming to pursue a career in cybersecurity or seeking to transition into the field." The page says it has "over 21 in-depth modules" of job-oriented training led by experts from several industries, and visitors can download the curriculum. It runs as live training in batches; testimonials come from students in CESO Batch 2 and Batch 3, one of whom describes "the second batch of CESO V2 live training."

The Certified Cyber Criminologist is described as "India's first fullstack cybercrime investigation training", offered only to selected students who pass an eligibility check. The home page says that "Within a span of 45 days, you are all well-equipped to be recruited in investigation agencies, government cybercells, etc."

Labs and CyberRange

Learners practice in virtual labs. The About page says VCL has "120+ virtual labs that students get for free to practice everything that they are learning", running in the cloud so no special hardware or software is needed. For institutions, VCL sells CyberRange, built by its CEROLABS arm, which it calls "a gamified SaaS platform for learning and simulating emerging technologies" designed for universities and colleges. CyberRange offers 300+ challenges, browser-based virtual machines for attacks, a progress tracking system, and assessments, quizzes and tests.

What students get

The home page lists four benefits. Courses come with lifetime access, so learners can go back to specific concepts whenever they want. A community membership puts learners alongside "15000+ learners" to share work and find colleagues. Students get access to VCL's placement network, which offers job openings through partner brands and an HR network, plus freelance projects. Support is promised around the clock, with queries resolved "within 24 hours of you reaching out", and if not, the page jokes, "your next coffee is on us."

The About page reports that 90% of students complete their course successfully and that 9/10 users reported better learning outcomes. The site also runs free workshops and webinars, a free library, a blog, Android and iOS apps, a downloadable career report, a mentor application and a refund policy in the footer.

For schools, colleges and employers

VCL for Schools offers training programs for schools, and VCL for Colleges enrolls students in "placement-assisted cybersecurity training programs." Hire From VCL lets companies recruit from its graduates and buy corporate cybersecurity training. The home page shows the companies where its students work, "and 20+ other enterprise companies".

What students say

Testimonials focus on access to trainers. One CESO student writes that "Trainers are easily approachable even late at night", and another recalls calling an instructor at night "as he was online, and asked my doubt." A QRadar student says she "enrolled into a few Free courses offered by them that are even listed on AICTE learning portal" before buying a paid course, and found that "Even the recorded course seemed so interesting and engaging." A CESO graduate writes: "Now I am practicing cybersecurity full time." Another notes that "Classes are very interactive", with trainers "available to review and clarify our doubts."

Who it suits and who it does not

Virtual Cyber Labs suits students and early-career learners in India who want to try cybersecurity for free, then move to low-cost rupee courses or a live certificate program with direct access to trainers. People aiming at cybercrime investigation or blue team work will find the most material. Colleges and schools that want a ready-made cyber range or a placement-linked program are a second audience.

The catalog is small and focused on defense and investigation, so learners after offensive security, cloud or advanced coding will need other sources. The fees for the live programs are not listed on these pages, and the cybercrime course requires passing an eligibility check first.
