What StationX is

StationX is a cyber security training and services company from the UK. Its home page says it was "Established 1999" and calls it "one of the UK's first cyber security companies, trusted by 500,000+ customers." The company, StationX Ltd, sells to three groups: individuals learning security or preparing for certifications, companies training their security teams, and organizations that buy penetration testing and continuous vulnerability management. Its current pitch is "Cyber Security in the Age of AI", with the promise to "Master AI-Driven Security Engineering" and defend at machine speed.

For learners, the offer has four parts: self-study course bundles, a structured program with mentoring (the Master's Program, alongside Accelerator Pro and Accelerator Premium programs), discounted CompTIA exam vouchers, and career support. The course catalog spans certification, foundational IT, networking, cloud computing, Linux, programming, cyber security, network security, penetration testing, generative AI, blockchain and project management.

Self-study bundles

The core product is a set of focused bundles: "ethical hacking, SOC, cloud, certifications and more." A blog page describes them as "one-time purchase packages covering top topics like Ethical Hacking, Cloud, Linux, DevSecOps, and CompTIA certifications", with lifetime access. The CompTIA bundles carry a pass guarantee, which the home page states as "Pass your exam, or we refund the training."

Bundles named on the site include:

  • The Complete Python Course Bundle for Hacking and Cyber Security, rated 4.6
  • Complete Learn Scripting Bundle: Learn Bash Scripting & Python, rated 4.5
  • Red Team Hacker Bundle: Learn Hacking Online Red Team Style, rated 4.8
  • The Complete Linux Training Courses Bundle, rated 4.7
  • Application Security Training and DevSecOps Course Bundle, rated 4.5
  • The Complete Cyber Security Course Bundle, covering "network security, ethical hacking, endpoint protection, and online anonymity" in four volumes (Hackers Exposed, Network Security, Anonymous Browsing and End Point Protection) plus a practice test

The courses are on-demand video. A StationX FAQ notes that learners "can take lectures within your changing schedule and at a pace that suits you", can go back to pre-recorded lectures, and that "Many courses come with downloadable content, such as coursework and source code."

Programming and hacking courses

StationX's coding catalog is unusually deep for a security company, and it is the clearest reason the platform also suits people learning to program. Its guide to coding courses lists its own titles in five groups:

  • Beginner coding: Bash Scripting Course: Shell Essentials and Best Python Course for Beginners (Python 3), both taught by Jason Cannon, described as "one of the most experienced and expert instructors at StationX", and an Introduction to C Programming Course taught by Paul Chin, who has "20 years of experience in teaching computing and information technology."
  • Beginner projects: a project-based Linux Scripting Course, Python Learning Course: 15 Real World Projects (building a screen recorder, OCR reader and face detection tool), and Learn C++ Builder in 1 Hour.
  • Advanced projects: a Python for AI course that builds a JARVIS-style assistant, a Raspberry Pi facial recognition door lock, and home automation with Arduino.
  • Python for hacking: The Ultimate Python Hacking Course, with "175 detailed videos about Python programming and ethical hacking", starting from scratch and including projects such as a MAC address changer, network scanner and packet sniffer; Ethical Hacking Python Course: From Zero To Mastery; and a Windows API Hacking Course With Python.
  • C for hacking: How to Create Malware Using C Language, a Zero-Day Exploit Development Course covering fuzzing, buffer overflows and shellcode, and How to Create a Botnet: RAT3 Course, which uses C#, PHP and MySQL.

Many of these sit inside the bundles, so a learner buys a group of related courses at once rather than one title at a time.

The Master's Program

The StationX Master's Program is the guided track. According to the site, it "goes beyond typical coding education and offers more than just courses and practice tests", adding "Mentorship, mastermind groups, and an active community of students and professionals." A StationX article says it "offers access to over 30,000 courses and labs on all aspects of cyber security, as well as networking, coding, and much more."

The current version is built around AI. The home page says learners will "Learn to direct AI to build real security solutions, not just run tools", aiming at roles it calls the AI-Driven pen tester, the AI-Driven security engineer and the AI-Driven SOC analyst. It promises that graduates leave as "a solution creator with your own compounding AI infrastructure", ready for a senior role, consulting or their own business. A free book, "The New Way to Do Security", introduces the approach. Details for the Accelerator Pro, Accelerator Premium and Master's programs come through an information request form.

Exam vouchers and career support

StationX sells official CompTIA exam vouchers for Security+, Network+, PenTest+, CySA+ and others. The home page guarantees the lowest prices on official vouchers and states: "As an official partner, we'll match any lower price on an official voucher." Career support covers CV writing, LinkedIn optimization and interview coaching, all tailored to cyber security jobs.

For teams and organizations

Companies can train their staff under the "Train Your Team" offer, framed around the AI-Driven Security Engineer. StationX also runs services: AI-Driven Penetration Testing ("One tester, ten times the testing") across web, network, cloud and red team work, from what the page calls "a pioneer with 30+ years' experience", and Titus, a continuous vulnerability management service described as "A team of security experts reviewing your code, servers and cloud every day", with a live dashboard and the compliance evidence fintechs need. The service menu adds vulnerability scanning, build reviews, source code review and social engineering, and the consulting menu lists audit and compliance, incident response, security architecture, risk assessment, security training and pro bono services.

Free resources

The site carries free tools: a "Will AI replace you?" checker that scores every job from 0 to 100 for AI risk, an "Are You Cut Out for Cyber?" quiz, a cyber security roadmap, a career guide, canary tokens, a weekly newsletter and a blog. Blog guides walk through setting up practice labs, including step-by-step instructions for installing Kali Linux on VirtualBox or VMware.

Who it suits and who it does not

StationX suits self-directed learners who like to buy a bundle once and keep it, people preparing for CompTIA exams who want a pass guarantee and a cheaper voucher, and anyone who wants to learn Python, Bash or C through security projects. The Master's Program is for learners who want mentoring and a community around them, and the services side gives companies a training provider that also tests their systems.

The site lists no bundle or program prices. The self-study format suits people who keep themselves on schedule, and learners who want guidance can choose the mentored Master's Program instead.
