What WizIQ is
WizIQ is a cloud platform for teaching online that comes in two parts, sold as separate plans: a Virtual Classroom for live classes and a Learning Management System (LMS) for self-paced courses, tests, reporting and course sales. The features page sums it up as "a high-definition Virtual Classroom, a cloud-based Course Builder with unlimited course creation and content upload capacity," and a white-labeled mobile learning app for learners. It is aimed at a wide range of buyers. The site lists government, K-12, corporate, higher education, test prep and tutoring, and vocational training as verticals, and employee training, onboarding, customer training, partner training, online tutoring, distance education, language teaching and webinar hosting as use cases. The pricing page says "Over 5000+ customers trust WizIQ to deliver online learning."
The Virtual Classroom
The classroom runs on WebRTC in the browser, so "anyone can access the Virtual Classroom instantly, and without having to download a software or host server." Teachers can define participants' roles and run classes "with HQ resolution and a 5-way audio-video layout"; the API page specifies video chat for up to 5 people alongside multi-way audio with any number of participants. Multi-bitrate streaming adjusts video quality to screen size and connection speed.
The whiteboard is multi-tabbed, with "Multiple whiteboards using browser-like tabs," a math tool with arrows and other visual cues, a drawing tool with pointers and markers, and a writing tool with multilingual support. Teachers can share their screen or an application, stream YouTube videos, play audio and video through a built-in media player, show PowerPoint files and PDFs, run polls, open breakout rooms and use group or private text chat, and students can raise a hand. For programming classes, teachers can "Code in real-time with your computer programming learners on a shared integrated development environment."
Classes can be recorded. The API page says "Recorded classes can be viewed or downloaded anytime," with reports on who viewed or downloaded each recording and attendance reports showing who came to class and who missed it. Recordings are in SD (480p) on every plan, with 720p available to buy.
The LMS and course builder
The LMS is where courses live. A school or trainer sets up a branded learning portal, uploads videos, audio, images, PowerPoint files, documents, assignments and tests to a cloud content library, and delivers courses "from self-paced to instructor-led and blended," including self-paced or time-bound video courses. Learners are enrolled by email address with roles and permissions, and admin tasks from user permissions to class scheduling, invitations, attendance monitoring and reporting can be automated. The LMS page mentions 50 GB of integrated content storage and video uploads as large as 1 GB.
Tests can be built "in 9 different formats," with pictures, rules, question sets, randomized multiple-choice options and time limits to discourage cheating; the pricing page lists 10 additional advanced test types as an add-on. Reports cover attendance, course completion, class, instructor and course performance, and the features page suggests using them to find weak students and spot "the weak areas of your syllabus." Reports download as CSV files. Discussion forums, assignments, conditional access to content and a certificate of completion are included in the LMS plans.
Mobile apps for Android and iOS let learners take self-paced courses, attend live classes, check notifications and schedules, and message from a phone or tablet. The LMS can be white-labeled with your own domain, logo and color theme, and learners can use the interface in English, Spanish or Arabic; through the API, the classroom interface can run in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, Thai, Chinese and Russian.
Selling courses
The LMS has eCommerce built in, so a tutor or academy can sell live classes, webinars and self-paced courses without a third-party plugin. The LMS page lists credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, net banking, Apple Pay, CC Avenue, Wells Fargo and PLIMUS as payment options, and the features page describes a "PCI compliant integrated payment portal" with tokenization of card details. On fees, the plan comparison lists a 0% commission on course sales, a 10% transaction processing fee when using the WizIQ Payment Gateway, and pass-through fees with your own Stripe gateway on the Infinite plan, with payouts monthly.
Integrations and API
WizIQ offers a Moodle plugin, an eFront module, a WordPress plugin, a Joomla plugin and a Drupal module, and the features page lists Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Totara and Edmodo among the LMSs the classroom can be added to. The Virtual Classroom API lets a tutoring website or LMS manage classes, track attendance and review recordings from its own interface, and provides single sign-on so users "only need to log onto your website, LMS, or CMS." The company offers "integration technical support for five business days of a week."
Plans and pricing
The pricing page says "Virtual Classroom pricing starts from $18/teacher/month" and "LMS pricing starts from $1/user/month," where a user is any learner, instructor or administrator in the academy. Its estimator shows "starts from $40 /month" for 50 LMS users, and the same for one concurrent classroom with 10 attendees. Plans are bought through sales, by credit card, PayPal or bank transfer, and the homepage offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card.
- Professional (classroom), "Best for individual teachers": a dedicated classroom per teacher, 10, 25 or 50 participants, classes up to 120 minutes, 10 recordings per teacher a month and 10 GB of storage.
- Enterprise (classroom), for colleges, universities, corporate trainers and test prep institutes: participant options of 10, 25, 50 or 100, API access, classes up to 300 minutes, 15 recordings per teacher a month and 50 GB.
- Pay-per-Use, per-minute pricing for up to 300 attendees per class, billed in bulk participant minutes.
- Elite (LMS): courses, tests, a co-branded web app, forums, payments, assignments, certificates, 2 hours of instructor training, 25 GB of storage and 20 recordings a month.

A separate set of meeting plans hosts up to 200, 500 or 1000 participants. Extra recordings come in packs of 200, 1000 or 5000, and extra storage starts from $1/GB on plans up to 25 attendees. Support options in the comparison include a knowledge base and forum, email, live chat and phone, instructor training and 24×7 live support.
Who WizIQ suits
WizIQ fits tutoring businesses, test prep institutes, language schools and training companies that want live classes and self-paced courses under one brand, sold from their own portal. Testimonials on the homepage come from Aakash Educational Services, E3 English, Elan Languages, the Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning and Lakmé, which says it has "roped in 475 trainees" for a training program. Corporate teams can use the same portal for employee, customer and partner training, and existing Moodle, Canvas or WordPress sites can add the classroom through plugins and the API.
Because the classroom and the LMS are priced separately, by teacher and by user, a buyer should plan both together. For an academy that teaches live and sells courses, WizIQ covers the whole cycle in one system.
