What VEDAMO is
VEDAMO is a live online teaching platform made of two products: a Virtual Classroom for running interactive sessions and a Learning Management System for managing courses, schedules, learners and content. Its tagline is "Teach Your Way," and the homepage says it was "Created by tutors for tutors." The footer states that VEDAMO "is owned and operated by Vedamo EAD, Bulgaria," with a copyright line running from 2013, and that the company has been supported by the Vitosha Venture Partners Fund I, a private equity fund co-financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds.
The homepage lists who uses it: freelance tutors, consultants, coaches and mentors; small tutoring organizations and vocational centers; kindergartens and schools; universities and educational institutions; and corporations. With VEDAMO, it says, you can conduct live online classes from anywhere, create your own online academy to manage courses, content and learners, and blend traditional face-to-face tutoring with online learning.
The Virtual Classroom
The Virtual Classroom is described as "A collaborative web conferencing tool with an online whiteboard, breakout rooms, and screen sharing capabilities." It runs without installing additional software, and the site calls it "simple and intuitive for both kids and non-tech savvy users." A teacher can create an unlimited number of live sessions, 24/7, and work with up to 50 learners per session, seeing and hearing all of them at once.
The main features are the online whiteboard, video conferencing, screen sharing, breakout rooms, a media player, recording, session templates and LTI integrations. The whiteboard holds learning resources for discussion and has tools for creating, editing and presenting content together, and synchronized browsing makes sure every participant sees the same whiteboard content. Breakout rooms let a teacher work with the whole group in the main room, run small-group activities and assign individual tasks in the same session. The media player plays multimedia materials and YouTube videos during class.
Session templates save preparation time. Tutors can create, reuse and share templates that keep every learning resource the teacher arranged in the classroom. Peter, an ESL teacher quoted on the page, says that once he arranges the resources for a lesson, "I can save them as a template and use them again and again with one click of the mouse."
Recording produces an interactive playback of past sessions. The page gives three uses: monitoring the work of tutors in an organization, analyzing your own teaching, and encouraging learners to revise by watching the playback. Hristina, the parent of an 8-year-old pupil, writes that "I am able to watch the recordings of the lessons and track his progress."
The longer feature list covers most of what a live teacher reaches for: distraction monitoring to keep students focused, polls, a waiting room, post-session surveys, group and private chat, file sharing, a file library in VEDAMO cloud storage, personal notes saved at the end of a session, a flexible layout, a collaborative rich text editor, a presenter's mode that hands students the floor, a countdown timer, a room lock that keeps latecomers out, and a moderation tool that controls what participants can see, hear and do. There is also a system check for equipment, a custom logo for the classroom, automated email invitations or a shareable link, an encrypted connection, access from mobile devices, and a support live chat.
The Learning Management System and integrations
The LMS is the second half of the offer. The homepage describes "A platform for managing your courses, schedules, learners and content" in which a school or company can create and manage courses and users from any device, schedule and blend virtual and face-to-face sessions, and keep all records of online and traditional training in one place. Together, the two products are pitched as everything needed to "run your own online academy."
For organizations that already have a learning platform, the Virtual Classroom connects through LTI: "With the LTI option you can easily integrate VEDAMO virtual classroom into Moodle, Canvas and Schoology learning management systems." That lets a school keep its LMS and add VEDAMO as the live classroom inside it.
Pricing and trial
The Virtual Classroom page offers a 30-day free trial, and every page carries "Start for free" and "Request a demo" buttons. Neither the homepage nor the Virtual Classroom page prints prices; both describe "flexibly priced" services with "no extra or hidden fees" and "only an affordable monthly price," and a separate Pricing page is linked from the menu. Help comes through video guides and tutorials, quick setup guides, an FAQ, a blog and the support team, and the company runs a partnership program. The site itself is available in English, Bulgarian, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic, French, Danish and Chinese.
Who uses it
The success stories show the spread. Knowledge Train in the UK delivers trainer-led classroom courses through VEDAMO; Simon Buehring writes that it lets them teach "with a live trainer but without the hassle of setting up a physical venue." Action Tutoring in the UK uses it for volunteer tutors and mentions a partnership "over the past five years." Lingoteka moved its language training fully online. ESF Inglês in Brazil teaches English to adults, and its course director, Sarah Castelli, writes that "our students are MUCH happier and the rate of sales increases and refunds decreased." Sofia University runs live sessions for students in the country and abroad, Nikanor in Bulgaria brings "more than 100 civil servants" together weekly for a language course, and Prompt Education in Thailand reaches students studying abroad. A hospital teacher, a math enrichment school in Massachusetts, a kindergarten in Sofia and agileKRC, an agile training provider in the UK, are also among the stories.
Who VEDAMO suits
VEDAMO fits tutors, language schools, coaching businesses and training companies that teach live and want a classroom built for teaching rather than meetings, with breakout rooms, a shared whiteboard, templates and recordings in one place. Its kid-friendly interface and the testimonials from pupils, parents and kindergarten teachers make it a reasonable choice for younger learners too, and the LMS lets a growing academy or school schedule, blend and keep records of online and in-person training. Schools on Moodle, Canvas or Schoology can add it through LTI.
The 50-learner limit per session sets the ceiling. It suits classes, seminars and group training, while a large lecture would need to be split into several sessions. For tutors and training teams working at that scale, VEDAMO offers a teacher-focused classroom with a long list of practical tools and a 30-day trial to test them.
