What ReadyTech is

ReadyTech is a virtual instructor-led training (VILT) platform for technical training teams. The homepage calls it "The all-in-one virtual training platform for hands-on technical training," and the core idea is that the live classroom and the practice environment sit in the same product: an instructor teaches a software or IT course live while every student works in their own lab machine, and the instructor can watch those machines and step in. It is aimed at organizations, not individual course creators. The site sorts its audience by role (executives, curriculum developers, training managers, instructors and government) and by use case: virtual customer training, onsite customer training, sales demos, employee training, and workshops and conferences.

The product family covers Virtual IT Labs, In-House Training Labs, Local Labs, Virtual Instructor-Led Training, Self-Paced Training, and Axis for labs in a customer's own cloud account. The company is ReadyTech Corporation, and its VILT page describes the live classroom as made for training rather than meetings: "Training features you won't find in generic meeting tools."

The live classroom

Communication tools cover public and private chat, several audio modes including a "request microphone" feature, and video with round-robin introductions. For running a class, there is a presentation timeline to keep sessions on schedule, a help request system to organize student questions, breakout rooms, virtual whiteboards, group activities and lab timers.

A performance dashboard gives instructors and training managers metrics on engagement, attendance, collaboration and feedback. The homepage presents it as the way to judge whether a class worked, and the FAQ lists it among the things that separate ReadyTech from a meeting tool.

Assessments are built into the platform. Instructors can send surveys, tasks, quizzes, exams, polls and course evaluations at any point, and the VILT page gives two typical uses: a survey before class to learn what students want from it, and an exam after class to reinforce the material and track retention. The FAQ sums it up: instructors "can create and deliver quizzes, surveys, exams, and course evaluations to track comprehension, gather feedback, and reinforce learning."

The interface runs in 14 languages: Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. Students and instructors each pick their own, which matters when one class mixes learners from several countries.

Labs and lab management

The labs are what set ReadyTech apart. During lab exercises "the instructor can simultaneously monitor all students' activity and get alerts when someone finishes the lab or becomes disengaged." The FAQ adds live lab thumbnails, so a trainer can scan the whole class at once and step in through chat or screen sharing. Students ask for help by joining a help queue or sending a chat message. Instructors can transfer large files within the classroom, run scripts, reboot or reset any lab environment, and share an instructor or student screen with a smaller group. A lab management dashboard handles launching classes, monitoring performance and resetting environments.

Labs can run in several places. The FAQ lists "ReadyTech's data centers, public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), or through your compute resources, such as student desktops and on-premise servers or systems." Supported lab types run from cloud-hosted virtual machines to Local Labs, SaaS-based training, secure government systems and GPU-powered CAD workstations. Axis integrates with a customer's own AWS, Azure or GCP account, In-House Labs turn local classroom computers into virtual training environments, and Local Labs turn any student desktop into an instructor-led lab with the same visibility and control. For SaaS vendors who need no hosted lab at all, the site offers a monitoring and co-browsing option instead.

Customer reviews on the homepage stress the browser access. Robbie Lanoue of Quadient writes: "The ability to have VMs that a client can use with only a web browser is incredible." A senior technical instructor credited as Tim K says ReadyTech lets his team "scale our instructor-led class sizes from just a few students to dozens," and that unused lab environments can be released when students do not show up.

Self-paced training and delivery formats

ReadyTech is not only live. Its Self-Paced Training product is described as an "end-to-end self-paced training platform" that "manages registration, payment, course materials, and hands-on labs." One homepage case study describes a student voucher system built for Silver Peak's self-paced classes. The FAQ confirms hybrid delivery with on-site and online students, and blended delivery as "a combination of instructor-led, on-demand, and self-paced learning." The homepage lists virtual, in-person, hybrid and blended formats as uses of the instructor-led solution.

Pricing, trial and support

The site publishes no prices; the call to action is a demo. Visitors can also request a 30 day free trial, offered at the top of every page. The homepage says the company offers customized solutions and will help a customer find the most cost-effective way to deliver training.

Support is a large part of the pitch. The VILT page says ReadyTech provides "complimentary 24/7 live support to our customers, instructors, and students," and the FAQ says "Our team helps with onboarding, scheduling, and technical setup." A services section offers help moving from classroom to virtual training or from instructor-led to self-paced delivery. Joseph Kambourakis, in curriculum development, writes on the homepage that "Support gets back to my emails in minutes and the chat support is less than a minute."

Case studies on the homepage name Silver Peak, Epicor, Johnson Controls, Shoptech, Informatica and Documentum. One headline says Johnson Controls worked with ReadyTech "to reduce training delivery costs by 83%," a figure from that customer's case study, and another says Informatica selected ReadyTech to power its global University. The VILT page also says customers report "significant improvements in learning speed, reduced system downtime, less dependence on internal IT." For teams on Webex Training Center, which the site says is sunsetting, ReadyTech offers a migration guide and says labs do not need to be rebuilt.

Who ReadyTech suits

ReadyTech fits software companies, IT training providers and corporate training teams whose courses depend on learners doing the work on a real system: customer training for an enterprise product, technical onboarding, certification prep run by a vendor's education team, or sales demos that need a working environment. The lab monitoring, the reset and script controls and the 24/7 support suit instructors who would otherwise spend half a class fixing student machines. Global programs get the 14 interface languages, and teams with their own cloud accounts or classroom computers can keep using them through Axis, In-House Labs or Local Labs.

It is less of a match for a solo creator selling a video course, or for soft-skills training where nobody needs a lab. The product is sold through demos and a trial rather than self-serve plans, so it is built for training departments ready to set up a program with the company's help, and those teams get a classroom and lab environment designed around how technical training actually runs.
