What MynaParrot is
MynaParrot is a managed hosting company for open-source virtual classroom software. Its main product is a hosted BigBlueButton service: the live teaching system with a whiteboard, breakout rooms and polling that schools and training providers use for online classes, run on MynaParrot's servers so the customer never has to install or maintain one. The menu also lists a plugNmeet service, a second open-source video conferencing system the company hosts, alongside solutions for live streaming, multilingual web conferencing and live captioning. It is a tool for the people running live lessons: schools, tutoring businesses, training teams and e-learning companies that already have an LMS or a website and need the classroom that plugs into it.
The company behind it is MynaParrot S.L., and the footer gives a registered address in Madrid, Spain. The same footer states that MynaParrot is not affiliated with or endorsed by BigBlueButton, whose name and logo are trademarks of BigBlueButton Inc. That distinction matters for a buyer. BigBlueButton is open-source software anyone can install, and what MynaParrot sells is the hosting, the maintenance, the integration work and a set of extra features built around it.
What a teacher or training team gets
The homepage promises "All BigBlueButton Features" and adds that the company has not held back any feature of the original software. In practice that means the whiteboard, breakout rooms, chat, video, shared notes and polling. The whiteboard is multi-user, so students can draw and write on it alongside the teacher, which the company's blog suggests for going through homework or pulling more students into a class discussion. Teachers can pre-upload a PDF presentation before a lesson starts.
Moderators get a fair amount of control. The blog lists locking every participant's microphone and camera except the presenter's, running a chat-only session, blocking learners from particular features such as audio, video or chat, and forcing one layout on everyone. Its example is a focus mode that keeps attention on the presentation rather than on video tiles or the chat window. Recording options are set when the session is configured.
For tracking attendance and participation, the blog describes a learner analytic report showing "when they come and go, whether or not they raise their hand, whether or not they speak, how long they talk for, whether or not they attend your polling." MynaParrot adds its own Monitoring Board on top: an "Overview of all session logs including general meeting information, such as join time and joined users," readable during the session or afterward, with more detail on each joined user while a class is still live. From that data a teacher can build a performance report on the class.
A Live Exam feature lets a teacher hold an exam during a live session while every student's data stays in sync on the same page, and the homepage mentions interactive content such as games and quizzes for livelier classes. Participants who cannot use a computer have another way in: the company integrates a VoIP telephone number on request so that a user "can join by regular phone call."
Recordings, streaming and languages
Recording is where MynaParrot goes beyond a stock BigBlueButton install. Its MP4/WebM feature converts a BigBlueButton recording "to MP4 / WebM video file in one click," and that single file can be uploaded to YouTube, shared directly with an audience, or backed up on a local computer. For an instructor who wants to reuse a live session as self-paced material, that conversion is the practical step. The blog adds that recordings can appear inside the connected course automatically once a session ends, with no additional work for the teacher.
RTMP live broadcasting sends a live session to YouTube, Facebook "or any other live streaming platforms." The homepage frames this as a way to "Remove the restriction of BigBlueButton's capacity limitation per room user," running a one-to-many class "with an unlimited number of participants" watching the stream rather than sitting in the room.
Language support is the newer part of the offer. Live captioning can be switched on in a class to help comprehension, and auto-translation is pitched as a way to "break the language barrier, so everyone is included." For webinars, the company promotes an online interpreter system so that each participant can follow a presentation in their own native language.
Hosting, integration and the reseller system
The hosted service is described as "Ready to use in minutes and free to test" and "Scalable to any number of users with our self-developed load balancer system." MynaParrot takes care of server configuration and ongoing maintenance with what it calls a dedicated team. The site's page list also names BigBlueButton cloud hosting, dedicated server hosting and bare-metal server hosting as separate options.
Integration is aimed at existing learning platforms. The homepage names Moodle, Chamilo, Joomla and WordPress, and says the original BigBlueButton plugins for Moodle and other LMSs keep working with MynaParrot's servers. The blog adds that BigBlueButton can be used with any LMS that supports the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard. For a system without a ready plugin, there is "an API available for integration." The company's blog announced a plugNmeet video conferencing extension for Joomla 5 in December 2024 and the move of its hosted service to BigBlueButton 3.0 in August 2025.
Because the software is open source, the classroom can be customized. The blog lists using a domain name and URL of your own, your own colors and designs, switching features on or off, extending the functionality, and building your own integration with an LMS or other IT systems. MynaParrot offers a standard rebranding service for this, plus a Reseller System that lets another business sell the platform under its own brand as a white-label product. Partner pages are listed for LATAM and Europe.
Plans, sizing and support
MynaParrot sells a "pay as you go BigBlueButton service," which the homepage says lets a customer "start with a small budget and use it for a few months while we do the rest of the work." The menu lists Packages and a "Try it for free" option, and the homepage carries a BigBlueButton Plans section, but the homepage prints no prices. The blog's sizing advice helps when asking for a quote: with BigBlueButton there are "no limits to the number of rooms or hosts," so the figure that matters when buying a server or a cloud service is the maximum number of students online at the same time, not the number of teachers.
Customers manage their account through a dashboard with billing, settings and support sections. Support is offered by e-mail and WhatsApp, both shown at the top of every page, and the homepage offers help with hosting, maintenance and integration. The site can be read in several languages, Arabic among them, and the company runs e-learning webinars and events under the Talk E-Learning Events name.
Who MynaParrot suits
MynaParrot fits a school, academy or training company that already runs Moodle, Chamilo, Joomla or WordPress and wants a live classroom inside it, without keeping a BigBlueButton server patched and scaled in-house. The unlimited rooms and hosts suit organizations running many parallel classes with many teachers. The MP4 conversion and RTMP streaming suit instructors who want to reuse recordings or reach a bigger audience than one room holds, and the captioning and interpreter tools suit multilingual classes and webinars. E-learning businesses that want to sell a branded classroom of their own have the white-label reseller route.
It is a narrower product than an all-in-one course platform. MynaParrot sells the live classroom and the services around it, and the homepage pitches it as the piece that plugs into an LMS such as Moodle or Chamilo rather than as a place to build and sell courses. A first-time creator looking for one tool to host, sell and teach a course will need that LMS as well, while teams with one already in place get exactly the part they are missing.
