MOOZ is a live video platform made for one job: teaching music online. The homepage calls it "the all-in-one platform for music teachers," built to "Deliver professional online lessons with studio-quality sound, keep students engaged, and get discovered by new students." Its tagline sets out the difference from ordinary video calls in five words: "Built for music. Not for meetings." Private teachers of guitar, piano, voice, violin and other instruments use it for 1-on-1 and group lessons, and the company says it is trusted by 157,000+ musicians and 50,000+ teachers in 80+ countries.
The About page describes MOOZ as "a fully independent platform, created by people who live and breathe music." Its headquarters is registered in Dover, Delaware, and the team of 40 people is spread across 10 countries. The mission statement is "To permanently transform online education by making online music learning as effective and inspiring as in-person lessons," and founder and CEO Max Grinevich explains that "We created MOOZ because music deserves more than laggy calls and makeshift tools."
How the company got here
The timeline on the About page shows a team that came to video lessons from music software. In 2019 it launched Leni, a pocket accompanist app, "with a team of five, including two concert pianists." In 2020 it built a global community of 1,000+ music and vocal teachers. Work on MOOZ began in 2021 with first tests and an early web version, and in 2022 the team developed MUSIO, a lightweight CRM for music educators. By 2023 MOOZ had users in 40+ countries, in 2024 it released full apps across all major platforms, and in 2025 it reached 80+ countries, grew the team to 40 people and launched new partnerships.
What a teacher gets in a lesson
Audio is the headline feature. MOOZ promises studio-grade audio so teachers "Hear and feel every nuance with pure sound, zero latency, and full frequency range," which matters when a student's tone, dynamics or intonation is the point of the lesson.
Sync Mode keeps everyone playing together, so teacher and student stay "perfectly in sync" with a backing track, a piano or a metronome. Teachers in the testimonials single it out. Vocal teacher Maria Ruka writes, "For me, number 1 is the sync mode in audio files. Absolute dream!"
Built-in instruments save switching between apps. A lesson can use a virtual piano, a metronome, a rhythm trainer and transposition, and teachers can connect a MIDI keyboard.
Multi-camera support lets a teacher "Connect up to 5 cameras to show hands, feet, face, and sheet music," so a pianist can show the keyboard and pedals at once, or a guitarist both hands. File sharing and annotation let teacher and student share sheet music, PDFs and the screen and make notes in real time.
Lessons have no time limit: the homepage lists "Unlimited time" for lesson duration and describes MOOZ as an all-in-one app with "No extras, no stress" in setup. Group lessons are available on all plans, so a teacher can run ensemble sessions or small classes as well as private lessons.
Platforms and setup
MOOZ is an app rather than a browser tab. It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and iPad, Android and Huawei devices, with downloads through the Windows Store, the Mac App Store, the App Store, Google Play and AppGallery, or direct .exe, .deb and .apk files. According to the FAQ, teachers need to sign up and install the app to teach, and "Mac and PC versions offer the full feature set." Students also install the app and join through a link their teacher shares, and the FAQ recommends that they create a free account. A guide walks new teachers through preparing and running their first lesson, and the site runs a live webinar and a "See MOOZ Live" session for teachers who want a demonstration. The site itself is available in a long list of languages, from Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese to Arabic, Hindi, Korean and Ukrainian.
Finding students
MOOZ also helps teachers find work. The pricing page promises that teachers can "Get discovered by new students in the MOOZ Teacher Directory," and each plan currently carries a "Limited-Time Bonus: Free Teacher Directory Listing." A separate offer called "Get 10 New Students," described as exclusively for MOOZ users, lists a dedicated account manager, qualified student leads, global opportunities, a professional online presence and "Keep 100% of Your Income"; teachers register interest through a form, and the company says its team replies within 24 hours.
Plans and prices
Students pay nothing. The pricing page states that "Students never pay to join a lesson on MOOZ. No hidden fees," and that "MOOZ is Free Forever for Students!" Teachers pay a subscription, and "All plans include the same features." The only difference is the commitment:
- 1 month subscription: $30 / month
- 3 months subscription: $20 / month, shown as 30% off
- 12 months subscription: $15 / month, shown as 50% off
The pricing page argues that "One retained student can pay for your subscription many times over." The site also says it shows pricing inside the app once a teacher has explored the platform and its teaching tools.
Payment is by major debit or credit card through Stripe, or through an Apple account. Teachers can cancel at any time, and the plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle: Stripe subscribers cancel in the app under Profile and Plans, Apple subscribers through their Apple ID settings. MOOZ offers a 14-day money-back guarantee, requested by email within 14 days of payment, with the refund processed "quickly, no questions asked."
Community and partners
MOOZ is a member of the International Society for Music Education (ISME) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Its partner schools include Escuela Amac, Taller Expresión Musical, Creative Cultivation Studio, Sheffield Guitar Studio and Escuela de Música Coram Deo. Two Facebook groups support teachers: MOOZ Community for all music teachers exploring online tools, and The Inner Stage for MOOZ PRO users. Testimonials come from working teachers, including Carlos Morgado, founder of Guitar School Masguitarra, who says "since I started using MOOZ, it completely changed the game!", and violin and singing teacher Victoria Kaplonskaya, who highlights "the sound and video quality."
Who it suits
MOOZ suits private music teachers and small music schools that teach live online and have found that ordinary video calls flatten the sound and get in the way of playing together. Voice, guitar, piano and string teachers gain the most from the audio, sync mode and multi-camera views, and teachers building a studio can use the directory listing to find students. The flat teacher subscription and free student access keep costs predictable. It is a live lesson tool, so a teacher who wants to sell recorded courses or run an online school with enrollment and payments will use it alongside other software rather than instead of it.
